Mr. Hudson – Lift Your Head

Just got a hold of Mr. Hudson’s upcoming album Straight No Chaser…definitely worth looking into.  The British singer’s debut album features production from Kanye West, and cameos from Kid Cudi and Mr. West.  The disc’s kind of a blend of genres.  It’s as if a clone of Coldplay’s lead singer sang over hip-hop beats.  The outcome isn’t half bad, see for yourself: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Mr. Hudson – Lift Your Head Tweet

Wale- Mirrors (Feat. Bun B)

Another leak off of Attention Deficit (Nov. 10th) with production by Mark Ronson and featuring the legendary Bun B from UGK (R.I.P. Pimp C). Download: Wale- Mirrors (Feat. Bun B) [Audio clip: view full post to listen] P.S. Attention Deficit leaked today…..I hate when albums leak. Tweet

Matt Stairs Throwback

After watching Matt Stairs just strikeout to end Game 2 of the World Series, I was reminded of this quote of the year from the 2008 NLCS.  How he has continued his career in the big leagues after this debacle is beyond me.  The reporter trying to hold in the laughter gets me everytime. Tweet

Chiddy Bang – The Swelly Express (Mixtape)

We’ve been pushing these guys hard over the past couple of weeks, and today they dropped their official mixtape The Swelly Express.  It’s got all of their gems that we’ve posted before (“Kids” w/ MGMT, “Truth” ft. Passion Pit, etc.), and some nice new material as well. Thanks to Pretty Much Amazing. ““The Swelly Express” is the true story of two college kids (Chidera Anamege and Xaphoon Jones) from Philly who rocked some parties at Drexel and quickly gained the attention of “the industry”.  The music and lyrics were inspired by many boring trips on the Chinatown bus (they have … Continue reading

Harlem Shakes – Strictly Game

Awesome song from an indie rock band out of NYC.  Off their album Technicolor Health. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Harlem Shakes – Strictly Game Tweet

John Mayer – Heartbreak Warfare

The second single off his upcoming album Battle Studies, releasing November 17.  Call me what you want, but Continuum was one of the best albums in a long time…I’m looking forward to this.  John Mayer’s no longer a teeny-bopper heartthrob.  Instead, he gets loose with Jennifer Aniston, shreds his guitar, and features on tracks from hip-hop artists like Wale and Common…he’s doing alright for himself. Lil Wayne – No Ceilings (Mixtape)

The self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” is finally putting down his Robitussin cocktails and getting back to what he does best…he’s just not meant to make a hard rock album let’s be serious.  Just in time before he begins serving his 1 year prison sentence… UPDATE: Official mixtape below with 5 new tracks- Download: Lil Wayne – No Ceilings (Mixtape) Quick standouts: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Lil Wayne – Run This Town [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Lil Wayne – I Got No Ceilings Tweet

Mike Posner – One Foot Out The Door (Mixtape)

Mike Posner’s sophomore effort was supposed to drop on Thursday, but for some reason the mixtape came out a few days early…definitely not complaining.  Featuring tracks with Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Saigon, etc.  The senior from Duke is set for a huge 2010, with his first full studio album coming out sometime early next year.  He’s also making his TV debut tonight on Last Call With Carson Daly (not sure how the hell he got his own talk-show…)  The mixtape is available to download for free on iTunes U…or just follow this link if it’s easier: Download: Mike Posner – … Continue reading

Girls With Moustaches – Moonchild (Born to Weed)

Still trying to figure out where this jam stands with me, snagged it off Pigeons and Planes the other day.  Definitely a bizarre song (and clearly a weirdass band too), but there’s no denying it’s catchiness. Addeboy vs. Cliff- Beep My Beep

This song is pretty ridiculous.  The first time I heard it at a party I was not to sure if I liked it. Then I heard it a couple more times and got hooked.  As you can tell from the picture above the two guys who made the track are fuckin clowns, but the song is very catchy.
