Throwback Thursday: 12/10/09 Edition, Part 2

I thought this week would be a perfect time to throw this song up for Throwback Thursdays considering the Clipse album just dropped.  This song was huge back when it first came out and it really put Clipse on the  map.  The beat is hands down one of my favorites of all time.  It’s crazy for me to think that “Grindin” came out in 2001 and it’s been 8 years since my football team would warm-up by rockin this beat on our thigh pads…the suburbs of D.C. were mad hood back then, I swear. Throwback Thursday: 12/10/09 Edition

To begin this edition of Throwback Thursday, we’re gonna start it out with one of the most underrated dance floor bangers of all time.  The R&B group Next was able to create an entire song based around the concept of drawing wood while dancing with a fine honey on the dance floor, and it’s beyond brilliant.  Thanks to Next, instead of it being a socially devastating accident, a raging boner on the dance floor has now been accepted by all.  Click play and reminisce with this 1997 beauty.  Props to Decent for the stellar Throwback suggestion. The xx

The blogosphere is, and has been, raving about this quartet from London who this past fall dropped their debut album, xx. For some reason I’ve let the band pass me by for the past few months, but today I finally caved when I stumbled across them again, and I’m real glad we’ve finally been introduced.  I don’t really know how to describe them… they’re definitely different, but at the same time very listenable; perfect to kick back to.  Great multi-tasking music. Check out the album’s intro which features a tenacious beat that Mike Posner just happened to jack for his … Continue reading

The Knife – Heartbeats

Nicky Rubio recently reminded me of a song from a few years ago that slipped beneath everyone’s radar.  I know absolutely nothing about The Knife, nor do I know any of their other songs.  I do know, however, that this is as addictive as weird synth music can be.  Give it a go. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: The Knife – Heartbeats Am I right?  Or am I right.  This song and a chilled out surf video could make a decent afternoon…and I don’t even watch surf videos.  Unless they feature this bro: Tweet

Operation Weezy F. Baby

This video is fucking great, I literally almost peed my pants when I first watched it.  And who knows this plan could actually work… “Lil Wayne’s drug stopping capabilities are, in his own words, ‘Rare, like Mr. Clean with hair.’ “ Tweet

Young Money – Bedrock (Post is Strictly For Daddy)

This post is strictly for Daddy, because he checks our site more than we do.  And while the song is a few months old, it bothers me that it’s the kid’s jam and it has yet to be posted on The Chuckness.  He’s our number one fan, and we must treat our fans with love and respect.  Thus, here you go Daddy; it’s “Bedrock” in all its glory. If you don’t know the song (I don’t think it’s exploded over the airwaves yet), it basically consists of everyone on Lil Wayne’s Young Money label.  And while basing a whole song … Continue reading

Clipse- Life Change / Freedom

The new Clipse album came out today and I waited till midnight last night to download it on iTunes.  I ended up staying awake till like 2 a.m. listening to it and I am blown away.  So go SUPPORT the Virginia based Thornton brothers as they have put together one of the best albums in recent years.  The album artwork is done by the New York based artist KAWS, which makes the project that much more intriguing.  Here are two of my favorites that have not been posted on The Chuckness yet… [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: … Continue reading

Robin Thicke- Elevatas (Feat. Kid Cudi) / Robin Thicke – Sex Therapy

Robin Thicke’s next album titled Sex Therapy is due to come out on December 15th and it’s shaping up to be a solid project.  All the tracks and collaborations I have heard so far have been great. It all has had a very unique sound to it that is pretty dope. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Robin Thicke- Elevatas (Feat. Kid Cudi) UPDATE: I’m jumping on Tow’s post here for a second, cause I didn’t feel like starting an entirely different post for another Robin Thicke jam.  However, this song pretty much equates sex and results in … Continue reading

Wale – Beast (Prod. 9th Wonder)

More unreleased magic from the Attention Deficit recording sessions.  This track is produced by the Grammy award winning producer 9th wonder.  I’m pretty sure there is enough leaked fire that did not make this album to release another fantastic album. Lil’ Wayne- On Fire

This song is Lil’ Wayne’s next single for Rebirth.  The producers for the song are Cool & Dre, and this beat is fire (no pun intended).  I thought No Ceilings was perfect, this song is great, but Rebirth is probably going to be sub par at best.  Nonetheless here is the track for your enjoyment. Download: Lil’ Wayne- On Fire [Audio clip: view full post to listen] P.S. If your thinking to yourself, “Oh shit I have heard that song that Cool & Dre are using for the sample,” well you probably have if you ever saw Scarface.  Here is … Continue reading
