Lupe Fiasco & Kenna- Resurrection

This is a great song produced by the guy from Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda, based off the travesty that occurred in Haiti.  Lupe has always been one of my top 5 MC’s and records made with a purpose like this one are always my favorite. Jersey Shore Soundboard – Greatest Invention Ever?

“Come on, bro. The idea to create The Complex Jersey Shore Soundboard was as easy as Snooki after two Jäger shots. What the streets demand, we deliver. That’s why we’ve compiled the greatest quotables from MTV’s greatest reality series for—dare we say—our greatest Soundboard ever. Yep, the whole Guido gang is here: Snickers, The Situation, Pauly D, Sammi “Is Not Really A” Sweetheart, Ronnie, J-WOWW, Vinny, Angelina, and even the muthafuckin’ Grenade. So even if the first season of Jersey Shore ends with its finale on MTV tonight, the fully embeddable Soundboard above will live forever. Seriously, bro.” This thing … Continue reading

Intuition (feat. Slug) – Buzzkill

Never heard of Intuition before, but here he is on a track with Slug from Atmosphere.  Not sure how to categorize the sound, definitely sounds like an Atmosphere track with a little spice thrown in.  Definitely a decent listen, check it out. Gorillaz (feat. Mos Def & Bobby Womack) – Stylo

Gorillaz announced their first single off their upcoming album Plastic Beach today, and as expected, it’s bizarre.  I remember the first time I heard “Feel Good Inc.” and I thought it was weird as hell, but I just kept listening to it until I loved it; and I absolutely loved that jam.  This right here is absolutely nothing like “Feel Good Inc.”  I’ve only given it one spin since I downloaded it, but initially I think it’s beyond weird.  I’m interested to know what you guys think, it’s definitely way out there, but everything Gorillaz record generally is.   The … Continue reading

Tiesto – Feel It In My Bones (feat. Tegan and Sara)

I haven’t found a catchy tune in so long; so much garbage floating around. This jam is phenomenal though. Pretty cool music video to boot. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Tiesto (feat. Tegan and Sara) – Feel It In My Bones Tweet

Dan Black (feat. KiD CuDi) – Symphonies (Remix)

Never heard of Dan Black in my life, but I love this right here.  Is that the “Umbrella” beat laced in the background?  Who knows… a little British flair in combination with a relaxed Kid Cudi verse is all I need this Monday.  Apparently Dan Black is a highly praised British electronica artist, who was a former member of the underachieving band The Servant. jj (feat. Lil Wayne) – My Way

Lately, I’ve been utterly EMPTY music-wise.  Music blogs all over the place are just throwing filler material up on their sites, and I just haven’t been into any of it.  Hence my week hiatus of posting new material.  Then the ever so mysterious band “jj” came along with this pure gem of a song.  I’ve been listening to their album jj n° 2 for a bit now, and it’s really grown on me.  I still have yet to see photographic evidence of what the band looks like; all I know is they’re a trippy, mysterious band out of Sweden that … Continue reading

Statik Selektah- So Close, So Far (Feat. Bun B, Colin Munroe & Wale)

I ran across this song the other day on 2dopeboyz and this producer is crazy.  The song features Bun B, Colin Munroe, and Wale over a very smooth jazzy beat and a positive, uplifting message.  Statik Selektah originates from Boston, MA and he is definitely a producer to look out for in Hip-Hop.  His album, 100 Proof, drops on February 2nd so definitely be on the look out.  Here is a video with some pretty hefty co-signs from some of Hip-Hop’s greatest: Download: Statik Selektah- So Close, So Far (Feat. Bun B, Colin Munroe & Wale) [Audio clip: view full … Continue reading

Jay Electronica- Exhibit A (Transformations)

I have had a bunch of Jay Electronica’s music on my Ipod for a while now,  but just never got around to listening to it.  Then this song came on my shuffle and I immediately began listening to all the Jay Electronica I have.  This song has been out for a while now but this guy is  dope and that’s all I have to say.   This beat is crazy as well, produced by Just Blaze. Lupe Fiasco- I’m Beaming

New Lupe that could possibly be his next single.  Props to Nah Right with the find.  This song is also produced by The Neptunes and its not my favorite but it is still some good material from Lupe.
