Some more modern-era hip hop for you right here. I picked up these two tracks a couple weeks ago, and forgot to spread the love to The Chuckness’ loyal fanbase. My bad. This duo consists of rapper Isaiah Clements (hailing from Portland, ME…gotta be the first rapper with potential from Maine) and producer, Hovey Benjamin of Washington, DC. They combine some fresh, laid back beats with a monotone-voiced rapper. The instant reaction when you see the word monotone is to think of straight boredom, but these guys are anything but. I don’t mean “monotone” to be a diss whatsoever here; Isaiah’s actually smooth as hell.
Isaiah & Hovey just released their debut album a couple months ago, titled Dante’s Love Inferno Machine. I dig both tracks, which means you should add them to your library.
