fun. is a supergroup of sorts, featuring members of The Format, Steel Train, and Anathallo. While all three of these bands have had their share of success; these three members have decided to intertwine their styles into one concrete sound as a side project. “We Are Young” is the result, and it’s gold. This is our first look at their upcoming, yet-to-be-named sophomore album; and it has me on the bandwagon.
In the meantime, do yourself a favor and educate yourselves on Steel Train and The Format. The Format’s “The First Single” dominated my library during my sophomore year of college, and Steel Train’s entire album Trampoline served as a personal soundtrack of sorts my junior year. It’s different, but I think that’s why it struck a chord with me.
