I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen an escalation to stardom go down faster than it happened for ASAP Rocky. The Harlem native dropped the bizarre “Purple Swag” back in July, and pretty much rode it to a $3 million deal and a spot on Drake’s upcoming Club Paradise tour. I’m sorry what?

His most recent mixtape LiveLoveA$AP has people buzzing, raking in rave reviews left and right. After a couple listens, I gotta say I’m on the band wagon. That being said though, I’m not sure if I’m now a fan because of ASAP’s rapping, or because Clams Casino’s beats are too much to handle. Clammyclams produces the vast majority of the mixtape, and his beats on the project go GORILLAS. If you’re looking to get back into some gritty hip-hop, check out “Palace” below.
