Bassnectar and I have crossed paths at festivals a couple of times. Every time I walk by his set I’m generally horrified. Most recently this occurred at Veld in Toronto, in which I was on my way to see a different act, and the only way to get to the stage was to walk through his head-banging savagery. I can mess with all sorts of electronic music, but the majority of Bassnectar’s tracks feel like they enter your soul and tear up all of your insides — which some people like I guess. Occasionally though, he has a less aggressive, melodic gem that’s right up my alley. His remix of “Lights” being an example — and now “Breathless.” Press play and let me know what it does for you.
