Avicii – Levels IN REVERSE (George Monev Edit)

This is pretty buckwild. George Monev had an inkling one day to reverse the chords in the most popular dance track of 2011, and the result is refreshing as hell. Just when you thought you’d had enough, Monev just makes the shit go backwards and I’m in love all over again. BACKWARDS. What an innovator. Marina & The Diamonds – Homewrecker

Marina you MINX you. You homewrecking minx. I realize I say this a lot, but I feel like this girl is literally hovering on the cusp of making it huge in the States. She has the talent, she has the songs, now we just have to wait. Her next album Electra Heart is due out April 30th, and if all goes to plan it’ll stir up some serious waves. In the meantime, hit “Homewrecker” to tide you over. Tweet

Bon Iver – Towers (Official Video)

A new Bon Iver music video generally equates to instant REM sleep, in a good way. This one is no different. Follow Grizzly Adams as he gets in his truck and his rowboat, all while “Towers” knocks you out in the background. Tweet

Madeon – Icarus (Radio Edit)

Today marks the day of Madeon’s first major release, “Icarus”. The song’s been floating around for a bit now, but the 17 year-old officially released the final cut via Soundcloud this morning — so you can go ahead and delete any previous version you may have had. We already knew this jam was dynamite, so no need to go into it any further. “Icarus” is currently available on Beatport, with an iTunes release shortly following. Tweet

Skrillex – Pop Dance (Challenger)

Skrill what the fuck bro. Just swooping in under the radar and snatching my favorite girl of them all. I haven’t written on their newfound romance yet because frankly, there’s nothing to say. Nobody understands it. It’s entirely incomprehensible. Ellie runs like 19 miles a day. Skrillex chainsmokes cigarettes. Ellie’s an undeniable babe with a British accent and the voice of a Roman goddess. Skrillex has arguably the most rancid head of hair in the business and a set of creepy ass thumbs (what up Skrill and Jimbo on Holy Ship). Yet when the two come together, they make captivating, … Continue reading

Reptar – Sebastian

The dudes above were responsible for one of my favorite songs of 2011 with “Stuck In My ID” (featured on the dynamite Heatwave mixtape). That jam has LEGS. Five years from now, press play on that track and there’s no way that you’re not still into it. Reptar just released the studio version of a song they’ve been performing live for a bit now, and it’s one of the first looks we have at their debut album due out this spring. The little “OH OH OH OH” segment has straight set up shop in my dome for the past 5 … Continue reading

An Interview with the Geisha Twins

After B-Rob introduced me to the Geisha Twins, I was intrigued by their sound and reached out to them to get a little information on their background. They politely agreed to do a little interview, and with the power of the internet, we have their answers all the way from sunny San Diego. Read the whole thing in it’s entirety after the jump. Educate yourself and check out the Geisha Twins on Soundcloud, Twitter and Facebook. Tweet

Gorillaz (feat. Andre 3000 & James Murphy) – DoYaThing

Converse is on fire with these random-ass collaborations that they’ve been putting together the past few years. Remember when KiD CuDi, the dude from Vampire Weekend and the girl from Best Coast got together for “All Summer”? Jam. Next, they paired Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K. for “I’m A Goner”. Also a certified jam. Tomorrow brings the official release of “DoYaThing”, a three-way collaboration between Gorillaz, Andre 3000, and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem fame. The radio rip surfaced today — so enjoy that below for the next 24 hours before we get the official version. Update: … Continue reading

J. Cole – Grew Up Fast

J. Cole’s been quiet since riding the success of his debut album, but he’s just come out of the woodwork this morning with a new release. “Grew Up Fast” features some soulful production, and Cole’s lyrical game apparently hasn’t missed a step since the album release. Add it to the library. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: J. Cole – Grew Up Fast Tweet

Deadmau5 – Get In The October Cart, Pig

Over a year ago, Deadmau5 released a rough version of this track — and he’s just graced his loyal mau5heads with the final edit. The buildup on this jam is one for the ages — straight living on the repeat button right now. This is a perfect example of the progressive side of Deadmau5 that’s made him such an icon in the EDM world. Update: Whoa –that was just post # 2,000 on The Chuckness. It’s all just getting warmed up over here. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Deadmau5 – Get In The October Cart, Pig Tweet
