Kele (feat. Lucy Taylor) – What Did I Do?

Kele, the lead singer from Bloc Party, has branched off into his solo efforts — and this right here is his lead single off of his upcoming EP The Hunter (due out 11/7). Just a completely different direction from Bloc Party — it’s not even worth comparing this to the band’s material. He seems to be following the current trend of the dubstep influence, we’ll see if it works for him. Tweet

Carousel – Games

This is one of those tracks that has absolutely no information to go along with it. I got nothing on the band. I got nothing on the song itself. I’m just coming up with zeroes everywhere. Sometimes that’s the best way to go into a song — you have no expectations whatsoever. Just press play and see what happens to you. J. Cole – Cole World: The Sideline Story (Album Review)

Today marks the moment of J. Cole’s introduction to the world on a grand scale, with the release of his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. The first signee to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, Cole has had a significant buzz behind him since people first got their hands on “Lights Please” back in 2008. It’s been a grind for the North Carolina native to come full circle since getting signed by Jay-Z, but today is the day that he can sit back and admire the work he put into making this moment happen. From the get-go, one thing is undeniably … Continue reading

J. Cole – Can’t Get Enough (Live in Union Square, NYC)

J. Cole swung by Union Square today with a busted ankle and did an impromptu rendition of his smash “Can’t Get Enough” for a small crowd. Pick up his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story here. Tweet

Alex Winston – Velvet Elvis (Crystal Fighters Remix)

Another official remix of Alex Winston’s addictive “Velvet Elvis” comes in the form of a Crystal Fighters re-work (RAC’s remix is also gold). The five-piece band from London have a Spanish influence, and some gems of their own in “At Home” and “Plage” to name a few. They slice n’ dice Winston’s lyrics with more of a drum influence in the background, and the result is a funked-out joyride that demands your attention. Give it a listen below. Clubfeet – Last Words (RAC Maury Mix)

I missed this RAC remix of Clubfeet’s “Last Words”, but if you’re in the mood for a complete zone-out track this is your best bet at the moment. Literally couldn’t tell you what I’ve been doing for the past 10 minutes as this has been spinning continuously back to back. That’s a good thing right? All I know is the dudes in RAC are untouchable. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Clubfeet – Last Words (RAC Maury Mix) [via All Things Go] Tweet

The White Panda – Mo Free Mo Fallin’ (Notorious B.I.G.//Tom Petty)

The White Panda have been on tour all summer — starting off the night right for college kids across the country. Those that bow down to their mash-ups are thankful that they continue to work on new material while on the road. Check out their most recent flawless execution, blending together Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” with “Mo Money Mo Problems”. There’s a reason it’s at the top of the Hype Machine charts. Great Mountain Fire – Late Lights

Great Mountain Fire comes out of Belgium, which makes this a first for me. Pretty confident I haven’t posted any material from anyone coming out of Brussels — let’s all pause and take this in for a second. Not quite sure what it is about this one — but I’m addicted to it. If you’re into the GROUPLOVE, new-age rock sound, you’ll get into this. Off of their album Canopy. Florence + The Machine – Shake It Out (Benny Benassi Remix)

This was bound to happen. The most popular ginger in the game today released her anthemic “Shake It Out” a couple of weeks ago, and the remixes have already begun. The clear-cut winner to date is this gem from Benny Benassi. The original is a thing of beauty, and Benassi builds on that foundation, but then polishes it for the club scene. Here’s a preview of sorts, with the full-length original releasing on the official Shake It Out Remix EP (due out 10/2). Interesting enough, acclaimed R&B crooner The Weeknd has a remix of his own appearing on the EP as … Continue reading
