Wiz Khalifa- Black & Yellow (Mastered)

Wiz released his first single tonight which is obviously an ode to his hometown, Pittsburgh.  The chorus is pretty addicting and the beat, produced by Stargate, is good as well.  I like the majority of the material that Wiz produces and this song is definitely solid.  On another note I just bought tickets for his Waken Baken Tour show that is coming to The Fox Theatre here in Boulder on October 8th and I can not wait.  Enjoy… [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Wiz Khalifa- Black & Yellow

Stromae (Feat. Kanye West & Gilbere Forte)– Alors On Danse (Remix)

Just came across this song, and these are exactly the type of random collaborations I love to hear.  I thought this was going to be some sort of mash-up with some old Kanye verses but this sounds like an original collaboration and this song is super dope.  The original song is by a guy named Stromae from Belgium and apparently the original is huge overseas.  I could see this record killing it in clubs very shortly if there is some sort of push behind it from DJs, but who knows.  I don’t think this is a finished track because the … Continue reading

Game (Feat. Jay Electronica & Swizz Beatz)- Higher

Finally we get a quality track from Game.  It’s been a while since I’ve heard a new song from him that I thought deserved multiple listens.  From the Bob Marley sample here, to Jay Electronica (my favorite rapper) killing his verse, this song is exactly what I needed to spark a little bit of excitement for Game’s next project, The R.E.D. Album.  Swizz Beatz is yelling all over the track in typical fashion, but that’s easy to ignore… especially if the album version has a Nas verse like rumored.  Enjoy this and hopefully some more solid material from Game is … Continue reading

SAVOY- Nothin For Nothin EP

So I was skimming through my iTunes library today and I came across this SAVOY EP that I downloaded when it came out in July but for some reason never listened to it.  I posted some other songs from the group a while ago, but this EP is definitely the most solid work I have heard from them.  This group has a great live show and the band consists of two DJs and a drummer (who kills it) that all went to University of Colorado at Boulder.  SAVOY is starting to build a pretty decent fan base but they are … Continue reading

Simian Mobile Disco- I Believe

I just moved into my new apartment in Boulder, CO and will not have internet for a couple of days so I am posting from a Barnes and Noble right now and trying to find all the music I missed out on from the past 4 days.  This song I found right before my flight to Colorado and I listened to it a bunch on my new iPad (which is unreal for plane rides) .  But it’s definitely a good track…you might remember this group from their song “Cruel Intentions”. They got some potential.  Enjoy… [Audio clip: view full post to … Continue reading

J. Cole- Blow Up (Prod. by J. Cole)

So I’m sitting here at work and a new J. Cole song just came out..figured I had to share this with you all.  I haven’t listened to the song all the way through yet, only a couple of seconds worth… but it sounds super good.  Here is what Karen Civil had to say about the song: His debut album  is scheduled hit shelves late October and promises to be one entrenched in struggle, progress, dreams and reality. The track “Blow Up” features all that and one in which Cole reflects on his rise to his present day status and what … Continue reading

Throwback Thursday: The Chuckness 2.0 Edition

I decided to put together a different kind of Throwback Thursday post this week to celebrate the monumental launch of our new format over here at The Chuckness.  The second I saw the layout that Mike from MadeByGuerilla had put together for us I knew that the font came from my favorite video game ever, Grand Theft Auto III.  Then I remembered driving through Liberty City in my Banshee (that I stole from the car dealership from braking the glass) causing a riot while bumping the crazy throwback jams from the radio station Flashback 95.6.  For those of you who … Continue reading

SomeWhere Else- Make It

If  SomeWhere Else keeps producing material like this, they will be the next huge thing for sure.  They offer something unique from their sound (3 emcees and a guitarist) down to the artwork used for their releases.  Master Basement is their mixtape release that came out on Monday and can be streamed from their site, TheeWebsite.com/SomeWhereElse.  A different track will be released for download every Monday in the order of the track listing, but it can be streamed from the site for the time being.  Go ahead and give this a download below, you will be happy you did when … Continue reading

SomeWhere Else- Taboo?

I found this today on P&P and I believe Confusion said it perfectly: A band with three emcees and a guitar? Hello, I am Confusion. Very nice to meet you. Welcome to my iTunes. It’s a mess in here, but you’re in good company. SomeWhere Else is the LA band that won the 2008 International Battle of the Bands. I assume they prolonged their celebration on some heavy binging (#goodcall), but they are finally ready to deliver the first single from their upcoming debut album Master Basement, and it’s got me drooling with an “I want more” exclamation bubble bursting … Continue reading

Throwback Thursday 8/5/2010 Edition

So I just got back from a short trip to Maine where me and Chuck were discussing how we need to bring back Throwback Thursdays, and right when I get in my car driving from Baltimore to D.C.  this classic gem comes on the radio.  This classic from Naughty By Nature is a perfect summer jam to put on and just have a good time to.  The summer is winding down and people will start going back to school soon, but it is always good to keep the summer music bumping.  If you have any other suggestions for throwback summer … Continue reading
