Mausi – sol.

ATG Records is now officially two for two. All Things Go’s record label venture previously released Nicky Blitz’s “Alive” as their first single, and they’re following that up with this little feel-good vibe from Mausi. The band consists of four members coming out of Newcastle in the UK — and “sol.” has made me a certified fan. Can’t wait to hear more from this crew. Miike Snow – Paddling Out

Miike Snow’s sophomore album Happy To You is due out on March 27th, and it’s been building an incredible amount of hype over the past few weeks. The first listen we got our hands on off the new project was in the form of the addictive “Devil’s Work”, and “Paddling Out” builds off the same elements that have made them such a popular band in such a short amount of time. Can’t help but love their sound. 2012 will be good to them. Tweet

Mansions On The Moon – Athens

Here we have another cut off of Mansions On The Moon’s upcoming, debut album Light Years. Pharrell Williams had his hands on the majority of this record, including “Athens”. I’m still sensing a mini Simon & Garfunkel style here, although not as strong as on “Rest Of Your Days”. Just a very out-of-body, spacey sound perfect for otherworldly activities. Matthew Dear – In The Middle (I Met You There)

University of Michigan alum Matthew Dear has been classified as somewhat of a new wave/electro/R&B artist, and he’s currently gearing up to release a new EP titled Headcage. “In The Middle (I Met You There)” is all I’ve heard from him to date, and I’m beyond impressed by how different this is from anything else I’m listening to at the moment. At the same time though, it’s really accessible and easy on the ears. Definitely going to keep my eyes open for Headcage. Tweet

Sleigh Bells – Comeback Kid

The second commercial album from Sleigh Bells, Reign of Terror, is set to drop on February 21st, and they’ve just released their first “official” single off the album in preparation. “Comeback Kid” has all of the elements that we’ve grown to expect from Sleigh Bells’ unique style — if you’re a fan of old, you’ll be into this. Anthony Green (feat. Nate Ruess) – Only Love

I personally no nothing about Anthony Green, but I feel like I’m familiar with a shitload of the people involved in putting this track together. Nate Ruess is the current fun. frontman (former lead singer of The Format), and the jam was produced by Emile (formerly known by his addictive work with KiD CuDi in his earlier days). If you told me that Emile produced a track featuring the lead singer of The Format, I’d listen in a heartbeat. That’s what we have here my friends. Get involved. [via Pigeons and Planes] Tweet

The Concept – “D-D-Dance” & “Gimme Twice”

These dudes crept under the radar when we were busy getting loose on the high seas in the Bahamas over the weekend, which is my bad. Don’t mean to humblebrag. Or maybe I do. Regardless, The Concept is a band to look out for. “D-D-Dance” just may be the catchiest track to date of 2012 — we’re just barely 13 days into the year, yes I understand…but damn this is catchy. “Gimme Twice” might as well have been written and recorded by Phoenix — which should be taken as a compliment. You’re not gonna want to miss out on these … Continue reading

Lianne La Havas – Forget (Shlohmo Remix)

Lianne La Havas is an upcoming folk/soul singer who got the nod to open up for Bon Iver on their national tour (in select cities). After being relatively unfamiliar with her, my mind was semi-blown as I did more and more research. Just a natural talent. In this track I’m sharing with you below, a guy by the name of Shlohmo got his hands on “Forget” and in simpleton terms, added some haunting beeps and bops in the background. The result is the trippiest musical voyage I’ve been on all week. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Lianne La … Continue reading

Sam Sure & Giacomo – Dark Inside

It’s about that time of day where I want to get weird with it. Enter Sam Sure & Giacomo from London. I could do a little Google search on them and figure out some more info, but the fact that they’re from London and make dark, ominous, synth-heavy pop songs is good enough for me. Listen to this shit before you go to bed and I all but guarantee you’ll be dreaming on another level. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] [via Blah Blah Blah Science] Tweet

Mr Fogg – Stay Out Of The Sun

This is my first introduction to Mr Fogg, and I’m pleasantly surprised by what he’s bringing to the table here. The guy is an electro producer hailing from the UK — but he’s loaded with vocal talent as well, demonstrated in full by “Stay Out Of The Sun”. Dark, ominous electro, with a melodic voice layered over the top. Sign me up. Stream below, and head on over to his offical website to grab the download for free. [via The Music Ninja] Tweet
