Big Sean- Bullshittin’

I have been waiting for more material to come from this G.O.O.D music affiliate and I was pleasantly surprised to find some today at P&P. Fuck you doin’???? BULLSHTTIN’ [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Big Sean- Bullshittin’ Tweet

Wale- Pretty Girls (Official Remix) (Feat. Chris Brown & Fabolous) + I’m Ill (Freestyle)

Another “Pretty Girls” remix surfaces, only this one is the official version.  The beginning of the track has the original song that the chorus is based off, and Wale has all new verses.  Later today, Wale decided to give out a random dope freestyle for all of us to enjoy. Big Boi- Shutterbug

If this song is an indicator for how Big Boi’s album, Sir Lucious Leftfoot, will sound then we are all in for something great. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Big Boi- Shutterbug Tweet

M.i. – Do You Remember

I came across M.i.’s mixtape The Jack Johnson Sessions the other day, and from a quick breeze-through listening session, I was able to pick out this track as the sole gem on the project.  Overall the blend of Jack Johnson tracks with hip-hop didn’t quite strike a chord with me, but “Do You Remember” is an easy listen that seems to work the best.  Instead of just throwing the entire mixtape at you, you’ll be better off by just taking this sample.  Check it out. Tokyo Police Club – Breakneck Speed

I came across this indie gem the other day, and it’s been getting a ton of airtime throughout my day-to-day activities.  It’s one of those tracks that you’re not going to rush to play immediately, but when it’s on, it hits you the right way.  Often times my favorite kind of music is the kind that’s best to multi-task to, and this is perfect multi-tasking music.  ”Breakneck Speed” has that TV show soundtrack mantra to it too; it’s a good listen. B.o.B. (feat. Hayley Williams) – Airplanes

So far I’ve been a huge supporter of B.o.B. and his hard push to take over the current music scene.  This one right here though…eh, it’s just not working for me.  It’s clearly going to be all over the radio, which I think is it’s main problem…it almost sounds too radio-friendly right out of the gates.  It’s off of his upcoming album The Adventures of Bobby Ray…and featuring the rocker chick from Paramore, it’s been awarded the more random pairing I’ve come across in months.  Just a bizarre collaboration…maybe you all will think differently.  Spotted at P&P. UPDATE: As you can … Continue reading

Janelle Monáe- Tightrope (Feat. Big Boi)

My roommate Carley played this song all weekend and the hook hasn’t left my head since.  Always good to spice things up around here. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Janelle Monáe- Tightrope (Feat. Big Boi) Tweet

Wale- Break Up Song

Wale drops this song on his twitter earlier today and in his normal fashion he delivers a dope track. Download: Wale- Break Up Song [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet

Chiddy Bang – Air Swell (Mixtape)

Chiddy Bang just dropped their newest mixtape, Air Swell, and as usual, it delivers.  Several of the tracks had previously leaked, so unfortunately it’s only got three or four fresh ones that are new to our ears.  Nevertheless, their new jams instantly have taken over my iTunes, and they have me beyond excited for their debut album.  Xaphoon Jones is undoubtedly one of the most talented producers out there, and Chiddy’s flow has gotten consistently better.  They’ve taken the blogosphere by storm, and with their debut album, this duo will officially take over the music industry.  Check out one of … Continue reading

Phoenix – Victim of the Crime

With pretty much everybody into Phoenix these days, I was checking out some of their old stuff and came across this gem that just hit me the right way.  It’s bizarre how certain bands just take over the world in about 5 minutes.  Phoenix had a couple of previous CD’s, and had a solid cult following, but they were by no means mainstream.  Then all of a sudden with their most recent release, they’re in car commercials and being dubbed as the best band of our generation. This track is off their 2004 sophomore disc, Alphabetical, and is a solid … Continue reading
