Coldplay – Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Avicii Tour Mix) (Preview)

Here we have a video showing of Avicii’s 3 day tour to Ibiza, Cannes, and Amsterdam.  Mainly posting this for the preview of a song that Avicii has been playing for a little while.  The preview of the new track comes in at about 3:33.  You might want to also check at about 2:28 where Avicii is casual playing a set with Tiesto, Guetta and Alesso along side him in the booth…no big deal. Azad Right – The Time Is Right (Mixtape)

Azad Right had a kung-fu grip on my attention when I first heard “Spiderwebs”, and since then he’s put out consistently great material. The Iranian rapper has a refreshing take on things, and it’s obvious that he’s serious about perfecting his craft. The Time Is Right is presented by DJBooth, and is comprised of 15 original tracks and 2 bonus cuts, all of which are worth your time. If you’re looking for a new taste of hip-hop, give Azad a listen. Guy has flow for days. Hit a couple of my personal highlights below, and then grab the mixtape in it’s … Continue reading

Coldplay – Paradise (Live on Letterman)

Coldplay swung by Letterman last night to perform their new single “Paradise”. Mylo Xyloto is due out October 24th for all you fanatical Coldplay supporters. I would make a “You know how I know you’re gay” reference, but that shit’s overdone — we’re better than that. Anybody else get abnormally creeped out by Letterman? Goddamn he makes me uncomfortable. Reminds me exactly of this dude and I cannot explain why. Tweet

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Make The Money

I don’t know what else to say about these guys. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis just released this new track; and as usual, it’s filled with viciously honest, passionate lyrics and stellar production. They’re about to jump off on their fall tour across the country, so hit the jump and check out when they’re in your city. You can ink me in for their show in Boston. Body Language – You Can (Star Slinger Remix)

The British producer/remix connoisseur known as Star Slinger adds a touch of magic to Body Language’s “You Can” — and in doing so he makes it an exponentially better listen. Star Slinger has established himself as the type of producer who can remix anything; he has no genre boundaries. Therefore, whenever I see his name floating around the internet, I automatically press play on his material. Hit “May I Walk With You?” for a taste of his production skills; you won’t be disappointed. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Body Language – You Can (Star Slinger Remix) Tweet

Wale – Best Night Ever (Feat. Rick Ross & Kevin Cossum)

Yesterday I was sitting down about mid-day to have some lunch and to watch some ESPN.  As usual, First Take was on and Skip Bayless was doing his normal act of yelling stubborn, often ridiculous opinions.  Only the person on the other end doing the exact same thing was none other than Wale.  Random to say the least, but after it aired I stumbled upon this new track from the DC native that was premiered by Funkmaster Flex the other day.  The song itself is a decent effort with a nice smooth sound and addicting chorus.  Not sure if this … Continue reading

Skizzy Mars – Together

The late teenager from NYC has a limited, yet impressive resume to date. Everything he’s put out there for the masses has been well received, and generally a breath of fresh air. He continues the trend with “Together” — and if you’re not up on him, I recommend you get involved with his previous material. Hit the stream and download below. How To Make It In America: Mixtape Vol. 2

Scott Vener has my dream job — that’s not a question. As the music supervisor for Entourage and How To Make It In America, Vener is in charge of picking and choosing what music goes into each episode. He watches a scene and determines what jam would work best in the background of Turtle ripping a bong or Eric whining about being a pizza boy from NYC. Of course, there’s more to it than that — you have to go through the legal aspect of licensing each song in order to get them cleared for the show, etc…but at the … Continue reading

College (feat. Electric Youth) – A Real Hero

We have on our hands the audio version of a full-body massage. The dreamy vocals do everything in their power to put you to sleep — it’s borderline impossible to not give in. Apparently this is played during the closing credits of Drive, which is receiving rave reviews. On my list of shit to see along with Contagion and Lion Kind 3D. And Dolphin Tale. And that shitty movie with the robots boxing each other. Shout out to Francis for sending this my way this morning. Tweet

fun. – We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)

fun. is a supergroup of sorts, featuring members of The Format, Steel Train, and Anathallo. While all three of these bands have had their share of success; these three members have decided to intertwine their styles into one concrete sound as a side project. “We Are Young” is the result, and it’s gold. This is our first look at their upcoming, yet-to-be-named sophomore album; and it has me on the bandwagon. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and educate yourselves on Steel Train and The Format. The Format’s “The First Single” dominated my library during my sophomore year of … Continue reading
