Chiddy Bang – Mind Your Manners (Official Video)

The official visuals for Chiddy Bang’s “Mind Your Manners” for the people — not really focusing so much on plot or concept here — just a whole lot of nonsense going on in a warehouse with Xaph on the drums. All good in my book. Breakfast in stores everywhere. Tweet

Foster The People – Don’t Stop (Oliver Remix)

Got a nifty little remix here courtesy of Oliver. I don’t have much info on Oliver. I know they’re a duo out of LA. I know their names are Vaughn Oliver and Oliver Goldstein. I know I want to party with them. That’s about it. So enjoy their remix of “Don’t Stop” and definitely keep your eyes out for more. Tweet

Sneak Preview of RAC’s Upcoming Single “Hollywood”

If you use the internet to find new music, then there’s no way you could have avoided the sounds of RAC. Their countless remixes are consistently topping The Hype Machine, and quite often are better than the original. The consistency that these dudes have shown in their productions is unheard of, which is why they’ve established themselves as two of the most buzzed producers in the blogosphere. Get a sneak peak at their upcoming debut single “Hollywood”, featuring Penguin Prison, via the video below. We have something special on deck with these guys, so stay tuned in that regard. Tweet

Chromeo – When The Night Falls (SAVOY Remix)

Chromeo’s always had my full attention — but when you ramp up their hit “When The Night Falls” with SAVOY’s pulsating electro rhythms, I can’t complete a single task until I give it a listen. Fortunately, this one lives up to all expectations. SAVOY doesn’t stray far from what makes Chromeo who they are — rather, they build off of their melodies and inject just enough electronic production to get you out of your seat. Sold. KiD CuDi – Dennis, Hook Me Up With Some More Of This Whiskey!

WZRD was a trippy, bizarre middle-finger to the labels who wanted to try and constrain Kid Cudi’s style to one genre. While it wasn’t entirely up my alley, I gotta respect the fact that he went out there and made a project that he wanted to make (instead of what the industry/label wanted him to make) — and the fans responded. Last night, Mr. Mescudi released this self-produced track, and people are praising the fact that he’s “returned to rapping”. Instead of over-analyzing what genre this fits in, I’ll just let him be his weird-ass, creative self. That’s all he … Continue reading

Flosstradamus – Look At The Sky (feat. Deniro Farrar)

Flosstradamus is a Chicago-based production duo, most recently recognized as jumping on that Usher “Climax” remix with Diplo. They’ve linked up with Denior Farrar on “Look At The Sky”, in what Rolling Stone describes as having “ethereal synths”, “crisp snares” and “hypnotic lines about weed, and paranoia”. I’m gonna go ahead and bypass all that and just tell you that it’s the jam. These dudes are about to see a lot more publicity as producers, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to see them be a household name come the end of 2012. Shout out to Steve with … Continue reading

Mandy Lee – Vagabond

The video you witness above comes from Levi Maestro as he gives a behind the scenes look at the music video recording for Mandy Lee’s beautiful song “Vagabond”.  Two super talented artists collaborating to produce a combination of great work.  Mandy Lee is an amazing talent and some of you may recognize her as the voice behind The Knocks’ cover of “Midnight City”.   This song can be found below as well as on a music collection Maestro put together and released today for his MKUSA Tour presented by Scion A/V. Mikey Mike – Chainsaw Love (EP)

So we’ve been preaching the beats of Mikey Mike for a bit now. It started with one of his “throwaways” years ago, “Honkey Night” — and it’s progressed since then. Our resident DJ B-Rob went to school with the up and coming producer/rapper/songwriter, and put me on to his material. The dude’s since signed to Universal Music Publishing, and has produced a few cuts off Wale’s past mixtapes and Sean Kingston’s upcoming album — that’s the long story short. On the side he’s consistently producing beats as a means of entertainment, and one of the results is this mini EP … Continue reading

Reptar – Body Faucet (Album Stream)

Reptar stole my summer last year with “Stuck On My ID”. Just snatched it right up. That alone is why I was all sorts of fired up to get my hands on their debut album. While it’s not due out until May 1st, the band is kind enough to allow us to listen to Body Faucet in it’s entirety via the stream below. I’m gonna go ahead and classify this as ideal cruising around the city music. Feel-good, upbeat, infectious indie pop. Sign me up. Tweet

The Parlotones – Honey

I was sent a couple of tracks by The Parlotones from a buddy in the industry, and I’m 100% sold on “Honey”, a sneak peak at their upcoming album Journey Through The Shadows. The South African rock band has been in the game for a minute now, seeing significant success in their homeland. I don’t know though, with a sound like this — I could see them breaking through the American threshold. It doesn’t hurt that the lead singer sounds like the long lost brother of The Killers’ Brandon Flowers either. Hit the stream below for a little taste. Tweet
