This past Monday night was a hell of an experience. Jimbo and I got to shoot the shit a little bit with Chiddy Bang and XV at Karmaloop on Newbury St. before we went over to their concert at Harper’s Ferry in Boston…which was beyond awesome. It’s always a plus when the guys behind your favorite music of the moment are actually humble, appreciative people. For the first time in a long time, I’m speechless. I have no words. I mean I get it, it’s Yeasayer…I was expecting something weird. But this music video surpassed any and all bizarre expectations I previously held. A couple things here. Here’s a sneak peak of an upcoming Chiddy Bang track, “Hero”, which is supposed to be off their debut album, The Swelly Life (currently set to drop September 14th). A couple things here. I’m not one to get pumped over a music video, but this shit right here is just wild. Not to mention the song itself has been getting tons of plays over here. Shad’s got some nice flow, and it’s perfect on top of the sample. Back to the video… I had like a Sixth Sense “Oh shit” moment when the video transitioned from backwards to forwards seamlessly. More comedic gold from Danny McBride as washed up scrub Kenny Powers.  Funny or Die put together this bit as a promo for the upcoming second season of Eastbound and Down which starts up on September 26th. This character slays me more than anyone else on TV…there’s no competition.

This video embodies every reason of why I would love to own a blob.  The beauty of watching someone get launched 20 to 30 feet in the air off of a big blob of air is amazing.  It brings back memories of the first time I saw a blob in the classic movie Heavyweights.   This little girl gets launched higher than I have ever seen; the piggy-back jumping technique is genius.

Eastbound and Down is undoubtedly one of the most underrated shows on TV, and it’s back for a second season starting September 26th.  Here’s an absolutely hysterical clip of Kenny Powers and company trying to make it through filming a scene back in the first season.  When outtakes are good, they’re fucking hysterical.  I’ve always wondered how comedians can make it through filming a ridiculously funny scene in a movie without breaking down and losing their shit.
