Great to see a guy you’ve been following for a while break through on national television. Ever since I first heard “Humdrum Town”, I knew that Theophilus had a unique X-factor which could take him places. He consistently put out material that was his own style, never was influenced by what other rappers were doing at the time, and he’s slowly but surely managed to pave his own lane in the genre. If you haven’t already, pick up his debut album Timez Are Weird These Days. An undeniably great listen from start to finish. Tweet
Never thought I’d be posting up so much Seattle hip-hop. In fact, until about a year ago, I had no idea that anyone out there was into the genre. Arguably the leaders of the movement are these two right here, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Lewis is the man behind the beats, and Macklemore is the Irish dude who goes in on it. I’ve posted a bunch of their material before, and honestly, all of it is worth checking out. Apparently for this video, they asked the fans to raise some money to help bring their vision to fruition, and they … Continue reading
I posted the radio rip of this jam earlier this week; and here’s the official video that was just released a few hours ago. This is an absolutely enormous track that will take over the electro world in the coming weeks, if it hasn’t already. Tweet
As you all know, Madeon is the teenage producer/prodigy behind some absolutely huge tracks. He’s garnered the respect of some of the biggest producers and DJ’s all over the world, and is well on his way to the top. That being said, he decided to mess around the other day and incorporate 39 tracks that he likes into one cohesive jam. Doesn’t sound that groundbreaking, as every dickhead in college thinks they can make it huge by putting together atrocious mashups, but Madeon takes the concept to another level. Oh and he’s 17 — if I forgot to mention that … Continue reading
Yes please. Hova you’re a champion. I bow down to you. This is a jam too, don’t lie to yourself. Tweet
Shout out to the Shoutbox for putting me on this one. For a second I thought this was Jin, that dude who used to go on BET and destroy everyone around him in freestyles, but I was corrected. So apparently that’s just me being racist, my bad. Dumbfounded is the stage name for Jonathan Park, a Korean-American rapper who made a name for himself through the freestyle circuit (not unlike Jin — so I wasn’t that far off). Everything about this track is crisp, from the production to his verses, and the best part is the fact that it was … Continue reading
Finally Famous in stores now. Tweet
Matt & Kim straight up look like they’re having the most fun I’ve ever seen in my life throughout this entire video. I fully support the “flash-mob” backbone of the video, where they just randomly setup stage throughout NYC. Hipsters, bow down to them. New York, NY (July 16, 2011) - Matt & Kim have done it again in their new video for “Block After Block”, the latest single off their album Sidewalks which premiered today exclusively on MTV and is now in rotation on MTV’s Hits andmtvU channels. The duo reunited with Jonathan Del Gatto, the director of their “Cameras” music video, to take the action-packed … Continue reading
Here’s the visual representation for Bon Iver’s first single off his sophomore, self-titled album. A little creepy, a little eerie, and a little weird — as expected. Pick up the album when it drops next Tuesday. Tweet
