Madeon is one of the more exciting up and coming producers in the electronic music scene; that’s no question. At the same time, the kid is only like 17 — so at any moment he could flip a switch and want to do something else with his life. Regardless, he’s put out some of the more captivating remixes of the year (not including his “Pop Culture” viral smash), and he’s been getting into the live shows game overseas…which is hysterical, considering he legally isn’t allowed into any of the bars/clubs he’s headlining. Check out some footage above of one of … Continue reading
I don’t know what it is about behind the scenes footage — but I’m captivated by it. Behind the scenes of a movie, an album, a music video…it doesn’t matter to me — I’ve just always been fascinated by the process that we as the audience don’t see. Here’s a little taste of what’s going on behind the scenes of Childish Gambino’s highly anticipated debut album, Camp. Be on the lookout come November 15th. Tweet
Here are the official visuals for the clear smash off of Beyoncé’s most recent album, 4. Please don’t lie to yourself — listen to this shit twice and tell me it’s not an absolute heater. If you can form a cohesive argument against me, write it down and send it to me. Otherwise just accept that it’s the jam. Game: Blouses. Tweet
Here are the official visuals for Mayer Hawthorne’s lead single off of his upcoming album How Do You Do. Wasn’t really expecting a gun-slinging one-on-one showdown when I first heard the track, but that’s the beauty of music videos. Mr. Hawthorne could’ve done whatever the hell he wanted. Nothing wrong with girls and guns. Pick up the track on iTunes. Tweet
Marina and the Diamond’s new single “Radioactive” was just released to the UK’s iTunes store the other day, with this video accompanying it. This one will burn the European clubs with absolutely no effort at all. Be on the lookout for her sophomore album Electra Heart, due out in the US in the near future. Tweet
I’m struggling to listen to anything else but The Knocks and Capital Cities after the show on Saturday — but I need to dish you something new. Here are the brand new visuals for Drake’s new single “Headlines” — Take Care drops Oct. 24th. Tweet
Here are the visuals for Adele’s current single, which is all over the airwaves, and undoubtedly will make you sailor dive out the window if you’re still hearing it a month from now. Not that it’s not a great song, it is. In fact her entire album 21 is phenomenal, but that’s not the point. The problem is she’s exactly what the radio wants right now, so they’re abusing her like you wouldn’t believe. Nothing we can do about it. Tweet
Here’s a curveball for you – EA has commissioned Skrillex to make a song exclusively for their upcoming release Syndicate. For those who care, it’s a first person shooter remake of an old classic and it’s due out in February 2012. Personally, I think this is a win-win as long as it’s not overdone. If you’re keeping score, this is the second video game song Skrillex has produced – the first being the Reptile theme song for Mortal Kombat 9 (which is an awesome game). Hit both below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Skrillex – Syndicate [Audio … Continue reading
In time for the show on Saturday night, The Knocks have released a little teaser for their upcoming single “Brightside”, due out October 19th on A&M/Octone Records. Just enough to give you blue balls until Saturday. Limited tickets are still available! Pick em up here and choose “Will-call” to avoid the inevitable line that The Knocks and The Middle East attract on a Saturday night. Word on the street is that they have a slew of “Brightside” remixes coming out as well, including one from the 16-year old teen prodigy Lenno. Tweet
