Yacht – Le Goudron (Edit)

Yacht has covered this dancey little number, “Le Goudron”, in honor of Brigitte Fontaine and to gear up for their European tour. Call me naive, but I have no idea who Brigette Fontaine is. So, I hang my head in disgrace and I will go edu-ma-cate myself RIGHT quick, but education will never teach me to enjoy a good groove!! dammit. Embrace the dance! and then watch the equally fun video.

Drake (feat. The Weeknd) – Crew Love (Star Slinger’s Jersey Refix)

Star Slinger’s a savage. This we’ve known. He just unleashed a little “refix” (the cooler way of saying remix now) of Drake and The Weeknd’s collabo effort “Crew Love”. The Manchester UK native adds his fair share of booms and baps and the result is what I’m looking for at the moment.

BOSTON – Star Slinger and The Hood Internet are playing at The Paradise next Thursday (5/10) — it’s gonna be worth your time. See you there.

Flux Pavilion (feat. Example) – Daydreamer (Dillon Francis Remix)

Boston is gloomy as hell right now. For whatever reason, some Dillon Francis magic uplifts the spirits. Here’s the thing with this guy — I can’t listen to a ton of shit continuously — generally results in a pulsating headache. However, when you go easy and occasionally throw on a track of his, it’s buckwild. I’m speaking nonsense. Happy Friday.

Cut Chemist (feat. Blackbird) – “Outro (Revisited)”

This is Cut Chemist’s first release in six years and apparently the first track he wrote after getting out of jail? With a rebellious chip on his shoulder and pent-up frustrations, Cut Chemist teams up with L.A. superstar (in his own right), Blackbird, who’s made a name for himself with his frantic energy and highly volatile music. A perfect pairing of minds for “Outro (Revisited)” if you ask me. What’s more, this video his HIGHLY enjoyable. You can even catch glimpses of the Chemist doing his thing on the turn tables.

Dylan Reynolds – Tightrope

Dylan Reynolds is a friend of Mac Miller’s, which may/may not turn some of you off immediately. Don’t let it. “Tightrope” is the first track he’s released to the masses (premiered over at Complex) today, and it’s a gloomy, melodic, borderline soulful effort. Fully on board with this first impression.

Kimbra Releases Free Remix EP

New Zealand native/singer/songwriter Kimbra skyrocketed to the mainstream when she helped out Gotye on “Somebody That I Used To Know.” If you’re unaware, she’s also got a legitimate solo venture going — she wasn’t just a random girl who decided to record a song with Gotye. Today, out of the blue, she dropped a mini remix EP of a few of her songs featuring a handful of really talented producers. I believe she’s touring this summer with Foster The People — gonna go ahead and say that’s probably worth the price of admission.

RAC – Hollywood (feat. Penguin Prison)

RAC has made enormous waves across the blogosphere and beyond for the past year or two due to their infectious remixes, which 9/10 are better than the original. All of this success on their re-works has resulted in their first official single release today, via Green Label Sound. RAC handles the production, and they’ve linked up with Penguin Prison’s Chris Glover for the vocals to make for some laid back, easy listening. Sign me up — only good things to come from these guys.

Blockhead – Interludes After Midnight (Album Minimix)

Peppered with intrigue and mystery, this downtempo, chillwave mix is perfect for slinking or sitting around just about any setting. I’m sitting here listening to it now and a giant June Bug has just flown in my window. I take that as an omen for a fruitful summer? I have no idea if June Bugs come with that sort of magic, but listening to this mix– it feels like they DO.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – That’s What’s Up

Hippies everywhere will fill whatever record stores are left across the country come May 29th, which marks the release of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros’ upcoming album Here. We were given a sneak peak of the album back in March with “Man On Fire”, and here we have another look at what new sounds they’re bringing to the table. I’m a sucker for handclaps, so when those kick in it’s game over in my book.

Chief Keef (feat. Kanye West, Pusha T, Jadakiss & Big Sean) – I Don’t Like (Remix)

Chief Keef’s Chicago ode gets the G.O.O.D. Music remix treatment. Almost too many features on here to even keep track of. I’ll leave the opinions to you all.
