A new Bon Iver music video generally equates to instant REM sleep, in a good way. This one is no different. Follow Grizzly Adams as he gets in his truck and his rowboat, all while “Towers” knocks you out in the background. Tweet

Justin Vernon of Bon Iver swung by Jimmy Fallon’s studio last week and gathered The Roots to put on a little live performance of “Perth”, and it’s pretty awesome. Questlove on the drums adds an entirely different element — I could go for a little Bon Iver/The Roots collabo album. Anyone? Tweet
People love lists. Particularly “best of the year” lists. There’s something about putting a quantitative ranking next to a collection of the year’s entertainment — the people need to know how things match up against each other. To be honest, I was dreading the creation of these rankings. It’s borderline impossible for me to take two albums of completely different genres and try to justify how one is better than the other. In the process though, you re-discover albums from earlier in the year that you loved, but didn’t quite give enough time to. This is the summation of that … Continue reading
One of the more candid, well-done interviews you’ll see with the mind behind Bon Iver. Just killing the hair game too. Tweet
I gotta take a seat for this one. Bon Iver’s music itself sends you to another world, but the addition of trippy visuals makes this an out of body experience. It’s like a visualizer that’s perfectly crafted to fit his music. Just hit the “next track” icon in the menu bar of the YouTube video above to cycle through the songs/videos. Stoners everywhere rejoice. Tweet
The visuals for Bon Iver’s “Holocene” are more or less impossible to beat. Straight Icelandic beauty all over the place. This one’s not nearly as cool — but sunsets still work in my book. [via TIME] Tweet
Justin Vernon of Bon Iver went on NPR the other day to perform a live version of “Beth/Rest”. The closer to the self-titled sophomore album is the only track that people have not unanimously fallen in love with. The album version has this 80′s-esque, Michael Bolton/Phil Collins feel that some listeners praised, and some despised. I happened to love it. Anyways, on NPR he cut out all background in the song, and performed an extremely stripped-down, piano-driven version. Just a piano and his voice. That’s all he needs — as his success has showed us. Download: Bon Iver – Beth/Rest … Continue reading
Annnd the rumors were true. Bon Iver and James Blake (of “Limit To Your Love” fame) have teamed their eerie styles together on a new side project. James Blake handles the production, and Bon Iver takes care of the vocals. It’s about as strange and bizarrely attractive as I would expect it to be. The track will be available on iTunes on August 29th, and their collaboration project titled Enough Thunder is poised to be released come October. A YouTube stream is all we’re working with here, so hit play below and let me know if it lives up to … Continue reading
Perfect visuals for a perfect song. Bon Iver’s “Holocene”, being the musical Ambien that it is, is bound to have a beautifully done, nature-oriented video, and that’s exactly what we get. One of the more uplifting, easy listens I’ve heard in a while; and at this point, I wouldn’t expect anything different from Mr. Vernon. Tweet
Here’s the visual representation for Bon Iver’s first single off his sophomore, self-titled album. A little creepy, a little eerie, and a little weird — as expected. Pick up the album when it drops next Tuesday. Tweet
