After releasing track after track for the past few days, Common’s ninth studio album is now fully available to stream via his YouTube video below. So far it’s living up to expectations in my book. Pick up a physical/digital copy next Tuesday, December 20th. Tweet
Common’s clearly reaching for something special on this record. When you feature a speech from a world renowned poet like Maya Angelou on your album, you’re going all in. It seems that the promo is in full effect for The Dreamer, The Believer, due out 12/20. From what we’ve all heard, if you’re a hip-hop fan, you have high hopes for this album. Plain and simple. Hit the stream below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet
Here’s another track off Common’s upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer. This project’s shaping up to be something serious: with “Blue Sky” and “Celebrate” alone I was sold, but add on “The Believer” and “Raw”, and it looks like it’s on another level. The album hits shelves next Tuesday, December 20th. Vibe with the premiere. Tweet
Common’s releasing some grade A material lately. Everything I’ve heard off of The Dreamer/The Believer has been refreshing — the Chicago native just sounds more driven than ever. Listen to the token album collaboration with John Legend, and pick up the album when it drops on December 20th. Tweet
Yep, here’s the Common we all know and love. He just let loose this track off his upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer, which is slated to drop December 20th. The combination of Common and a No I.D. production never fails. The Chicago rapper was born to rap over soulful samples, and No I.D. never disappoints in that department. Tweet
The official visuals for Common’s current, ELO-sampling single “Blue Sky”. Keep your eyes open for his next album titled The Dreamer, The Believer – due out on Nov. 22nd. Tweet
Last night, Nas and Common jumped on Twitter and released this track to the masses. Arguably the most hard-working producer in the game, No I.D., is behind the beat; as Common goes in for two verses, and Nas adds one of his own. If you don’t know already, take 2 minutes of your day and look at No I.D.’s resume; shit is ridiculous. He’s almost single-handedly taken over the entire genre, and few people even know what his face looks like. Check out “Ghetto Dreams” below. Kind of an interesting thing going on here. First off the song itself is great, with Common providing excellence on the lyrical side while No I.D. does the same with the production. Secondly this group, Cocaine 80s, comes out of nowhere with little to no information. Enjoy the song and see what Fake Shore Drive had to say about this mysterious project: Every now and again something special will appear that you just can’t explain. Enter Cocaine 80s, an out of nowhere No I.D.-helmed project, that includes little to no details other than the key players involved. Who is Cocaine … Continue reading
I haven’t heard new material from Common in forever, so needless to say I was intrigued when I stumbled across this unreleased song today. Thinking back, I was so heavily into his album Be that it was borderline obnoxious. He always holds this unique, naturally captivating tone that’s unteachable. I’m into this one, hit me with your thoughts in the comments section. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Common – Follow Me [via] Tweet
