Deadmau5 – “Fn Pig” & “Closer”

Deadmau5 gave the viewers of his live stream session a treat the other night by previewing these two tracks, and then within 24 hours both of them have popped-up on his SoundCloud.  ”Fn Pig” is the type of music I personally love to hear from the dude,  it has a progressive sound, and the build-up mixed with the up-tempo drop works perfectly.  ”Closer” is a much more progressive track and actually a reworking of a previous release.  All good by me. Deadmau5 – The Veldt

The story behind this track is pretty awesome. Deadmau5 created the instrumental for “The Veldt” (inspired from the short story), and let people submit their vocals for it to give it some legs. The catch was that he wanted the vocals to relate to the story. This random dude Chris James sent in his take on it, Deadmau5 randomly clicked on it, completely flipped out and loved it — and they worked together to make it an official jam. The majority of this all took place as Deadmau5 was doing one of his live uStreams, which you can check out … Continue reading

Wolfgang Gartner – Redline (Preview)

Here’s Wolgang Gartner’s next single for you all to give a spin before its official release date, which is slated to take place in May on Ultra Records.  Wolfgang also has said that he will be releasing singles once a month this year so definitely be on the look out for that.  This is the type of music I like to hear coming from the San Luis Obispo native, and I look forward to seeing what he has in store for us as the year progresses.  Apparently another Deadmau5 collaboration is in the mix… [Audio clip: view full post to … Continue reading

Deadmau5 – Strobe (Redial Remix)

For whatever reason I was really looking to ramp shit up this morning and I came across this remix to my favorite track from Deadmau5. He probably hates it because somebody attempted to re-work one of his masterpieces, but when the original “Strobe” is too calm-inducing for you — try this one out for size. Enough womps to hold over even the more aggressive bass fans out there, yet it still holds true to the original’s melodies. Sign me up. Deadmau5 – Get In The October Cart, Pig

Over a year ago, Deadmau5 released a rough version of this track — and he’s just graced his loyal mau5heads with the final edit. The buildup on this jam is one for the ages — straight living on the repeat button right now. This is a perfect example of the progressive side of Deadmau5 that’s made him such an icon in the EDM world. Update: Whoa –that was just post # 2,000 on The Chuckness. It’s all just getting warmed up over here. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Deadmau5 – Get In The October Cart, Pig Tweet

Deadmau5/Nokia 4D Projection in London

So yeah, this happened yesterday. On Monday 28th November Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows phonehttp://nokia.ly/uBVXxw brought deadmau5 and the world’s most advanced 4D technology together and created an amazing free light show at Millbank Tower, London. Millbank was plunged into darkness with the iconic tower acting as the canvas for a never-before-seen spectacular. Each of the 120 metre high building’s 800 windows were covered with vinyl as 16 powerful projectors, stationed 300 metres away on the other side of the river, beamed 3D images onto the structure. Huge butterflies flew across the London skyline and the tower was twisted, pulsated and … Continue reading

Deamau5 – Aural Psynapse

Back in August, I saw Deadmau5 perform at Lollapalooza, and he played a track that was unknown to me at the time. From one live listen, it was pretty obvious that it had potential to be something special, but I had no idea what song it was. The technology gods have created tools for scenarios such as this (i.e. Shazaam), but there was no official version of the track anywhere…which put me at a loss. Until now. “Aural Psynapse” was the cut I was looking for, and we now have the original mix in our hands. If I can dig … Continue reading

Deadmau5 – Strobe (Special Features Remix)

First things first, I don’t think I’m alone in saying that “Strobe” is one of my favorite electronic tracks ever created. Everything about the original is perfect, so why mess with it? Up until about 5 minutes ago, I didn’t think there was any reason to tweak it whatsoever. Then this dude Special Features comes out of left field and flips my world upside down. He takes everything I love about the original and enhances those aspects to perfection. Unbelievable talent right here. Deadmau5 Live At House Of Blues – Boston

You can’t really just casually go to a Deadmau5 concert on a Wednesday. Wake up, go to work, get out of work, and go to a Deadmau5 show…just doesn’t work like that. But that’s what happened last night. This was my third time seeing the Mau5 — the first being about a year ago in NYC, and then over the summer at Lollapalooza in a downpour in Chicago’s Grant Park. Everytime it’s an event. Last night was no different. Unlike Jimbo, I wasn’t really craving to see the opening acts, as the majority of them seemed to be hard dubstep … Continue reading

Deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Remix)

Whoa. Here is some absolutely absurd production on a “Raise Your Weapon” remix; and the best part is that the mind behind it is merely 16 years old.  I repeat: Madeon is 16. What the hell was I doing at 16? I spent my days slugging Capri Sun big pouches and playing Grand Theft Auto; and this kid is making absolute bangers from his bedroom. He legitimately gives the song a completely different feel, making it feel authentic and original. Unbelievable talent. If you want more Madeon, check out his Yelle remix that we posted a while back…also gold. [Audio … Continue reading
