Whoa. For the first 20 seconds or so, this sounds just like “Crew Love” that we’re all used to. Then out of NOWHERE this turns into an 80′s dance party, with barely any recognition of the original track found anywhere outside of the “We’re lovin the crew” background vocals. Around the 2:00 mark this shit really breaks down. Annnnnd the remixes have begun. Take Care is the talk of the town, and it was only so long before people started tweaking and re-working every song on the album. For the most part I won’t give these the time of day, but I’ll give anything Star Slinger touches a listen. Here he adds more drums to Drake’s opener off the album, amongst other things, and the result is one of my favorite Star Slinger tracks to date. Aubrey Graham’s sophomore album Take Care is arguably the biggest record release of the year. The Toronto native is coming off one of the more impressive stints in recent memory — seemingly having a feature on any and every Billboard smash you can think of. The internet almost exploded last night with certain news about the newfound availability of Drake’s sophomore album Take Care. It started when Canadian radio played two highly anticipated cuts off the project. Ears were given a first listen to the Jamie xx-produced track “Take Care”, which features help from Rihanna, as well as The Weeknd-assisted “Crew Love”. Both are enormous tracks, that lead me to believe the first week numbers for Take Care might be bigger than we all think. Drake just let go of this mastered version of “The Motto”, one of the bonus tracks off of Take Care. According to the Toronto native, the tracklist that was released yesterday is not entirely accurate — as a couple of features weren’t listed (including this one). So far, it sounds like he’s covering all the bases on his sophomore album. He’s got the R&B Drake fans covered. He’s got the rap Drake fans covered. He’s got the features he needs.
