Drake (feat. Nicki Minaj) – Make Me Proud

A new track surfaced tonight from Drake’s upcoming album Take Care, premiering over on Funkmaster Flex’s radio show. “Make Me Proud” will tear up the airwaves in the coming months, that’s no question. However, I can tell you right now, I will never, never be able to get over the atrocity that is “I’m a star…Sheriff badge”. That is a legitimate lyrical attempt by Nicki to be creative, and it instantaneously makes me want to jump out of buildings. Nothing more to be said. Take Care out November 15th. Drake – Headlines (Video)

I’m struggling to listen to anything else but The Knocks and Capital Cities after the show on Saturday — but I need to dish you something new. Here are the brand new visuals for Drake’s new single “Headlines” — Take Care drops Oct. 24th. Tweet

Drake – “Club Paradise” & “Free Spirit”

Drake released these two new ones to the masses the other day via his personal blog OVOXO. “Club Paradise” is written as an ode to a strip club in his hometown of Toronto, and per usual Drake style he reveals personal emotions via his story-telling methods. His supporters say he’s a real rapper who’s not afraid to tell people about his life and personal relationships; his haters say he’s an over-sensitive emo “rapper”. That will never change. For the anti-Drake listeners, the second track features Ricky Rozay, and should be more appealing to you. Take Care is slated to drop … Continue reading

Lil Wayne – It’s Good (feat. Drake & Jadakiss)

Back.

That award-winning photograph you see above was taken with my bare hands, and is the reason for the lack of posts to the site lately. It’s from a little place I like to call The Island, way up in northern Maine. No television, no internet, just straight natural beauty. I’ve been spending one week on The Island all 23 years of my life, and while the wheels of the world turn and things endlessly change, there’s a constant magic about this place; because everything stays exactly the same. Every single year you’re treated to the same, unbelievably striking sunset that … Continue reading

Nooks & Crannies Vol. 2

I’m on the 42nd floor in an apartment building in downtown Chicago right now, gearing up for the final day of Lollapalooza. As you’ve noticed there haven’t been any posts for the past week, as I’m not cool enough to have backup writers yet. I’m in the midst of a 2 week vacation, consisting of the beaches in Maine, to the streets of Chicago, to finally a small little island back in Maine. Internet is sparse, so while we’re buckled down in recovery mode before our final Lollapalooza go-around, I figured I’ll try to collect a few tracks that I’ve … Continue reading

The Weeknd – Trust Issues

I’m vibing on a couch in the Philly airport right now, hosting a full on rage festival for all of us who missed our connection flights after the delay in Boston. My attendees consist of two passed out 20-something Edgar Allen Bros, an elderly couple clinging to a state of consciousness by playing Sudoku, two zonked out middle-aged ladies in Mom jeans, and a mega-nerd slugging Mountain Dew and housing Pringles, while coding some crazy shit on his laptop. Take all that in, and let me tell you, this shit is a certified shoe-in for party of the year. You … Continue reading

Drake – Trust Issues

Drake unleashed a new song that seems to possibly be an early demo of “I’m On One”.  No word as to where this track is going to end up, if anywhere.  In the artist’s own words: Did my own little thing using some other thing I did. You know. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Drake – Trust Issues Tweet

DJ Khaled (feat. Drake, Lil Wayne & Rick Ross) – I’m On One (Karetus Remix)

Came across this dubstep remix today to the most recent hip-hop anthem that’s sweeping the country. I didn’t realize “I’m On One” would have the mass success that it’s actually having; but it just goes to show if you throw Drake on a hook and add in some Wayne and/or Rick Ross, it’s a formula for guaranteed success. This remix completely transforms the song; and honestly I change my mind about it everytime I listen to it — which is why I need you to tell me how it is. It catches me at the beginning, then I just get … Continue reading
