Always down for some behind-the-scenes footage. Ellie cruises around NYC and stops off at MTV’s headquarters before her opening set at Madison Square Garden. Good to see her humble-bragging game stepping up! That’s how you know she made it. Still love you Ellie. Tweet
A few things to cover here. First off, it’s wild to see our babe Ellie Goulding jumping on Skrillex jams — but I couldn’t say I didn’t see this coming. Her vocals are perfect for the electronic movement that we find ourselves in the middle of. Secondly, Skrillex released a new EP last Friday titled Bangarang – with 8 new tracks that can all be picked up courtesy of Steve Jobs. “Summit” is the final version of “Breathe”, which leaked a few days/weeks ago — and he’s tossed in a quick verse from Ellie for good measure. Finally, I’m not sure … Continue reading
Gonna be honest, Lupe’s one of the more annoying dudes to follow on Twitter. The other day though, he was saying how the pre-concert, hype-up jam of his tour had been Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”. Didn’t see that one coming in the slightest. It was only a matter of time before he jumped on it himself to lay down a few bars. Keep your eyes open for a mixtape coming from him around Thanksgiving titled Friend Of The People. As always, get educated with the lyrical breakdowns from the minds over at Rap Genius: Lupe Fiasco – Lightwork … Continue reading
I’m still on a high from the concert the other night, so it’s fitting that the U.S. video of Ellie’s smash “Starry Eyed” was just released. A few more visuals of our favorite British singer is never a bad thing. That being said, I think this video made me realize why I have this infatuation with her…it’s all in the teeth. She’s literally the first soon to be superstar from the UK with acceptable teeth. Terrifying snaggleteeth are an instant thumb down in my book, and Ellie has managed to go against all Londoners in this regard. Well done. And … Continue reading
So Ellie Goulding came to Boston again last night, and I had to go. It’s just a no-brainer for me; if she’s in town I gotta make it happen. I grabbed a couple of co-workers, explained to them the situation, and they hopped on board. Even better, Bag Raiders were on the bill as the opening act — the combination was almost too much to handle. Hit the jump to continue reading and see how things played out. Tweet
I’ve received a fair amount of shit from my roommate for continuously posting the photo of me and Ellie whenever I do a post of one of her tracks, and although it’s difficult, I’m opting for another picture here. “Lights” has been one of the most remixed songs of the year, to the point where I really struggle to listen to any version of the song whatsoever now. What used to be a clear-cut favorite of mine has now been remixed and sampled and remixed again, to the point where I had no choice but to move on. That is … Continue reading
The Hood Internet are just better at making mash-ups than you; that’s all there is to it. Thousands of kids on college campuses think they’re sweet by mashing up random artists, which is cool, but The Hood Internet has it down to a science. This time around, they take Kanye’s “All of the Lights”, Ellie’s “Lights”, and a bit from the Portland Cello Project to fuse together one of the better mash-ups I’ve heard in a while. Check it out for yourself below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: The Hood Internet – All Of The Lights (Ellie Goulding/Kanye … Continue reading
Came across this dubbed out remix of Tinie Tempah and Ellie’s “Wonderman” today, and it adds a little more “oomf” behind the best track off Tinie’s album. If you haven’t, get your hands on Disc-Overy, which was released in the US on May 17th. It’s laced with top notch tracks throughout; not just the familiar “Written In The Stars”, which is currently dominating US radio. Anyways, press play on this remix below and let me know what you think. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Tinie Tempah (feat. Ellie Goulding) – Wonderman (Jacob Plant Remix) Tweet
I kind of feel like a jabroni posting this, but I can’t help it. Generally these clusterfuck mash-ups featuring 19 different artists make your ears bleed, but this one from Mitch-Mash has been on repeat for roughly 45 minutes. I no longer have a choice but to share it with you all. He takes Avicii’s “Levels”, tosses in some Ludacris, Amanda Blank, Ellie Goulding, Kelis, and Wiz Khalifa, blends it up, and somehow has something that’s worth listening to. I’m not sure how he did it; but give it a listen and let me know what you think. [Audio clip: … Continue reading
