Fantastic Mr Fox – Speak Nuh

Back in 2010, I was in Munich, Germany visiting a friend. Fantastic Mr. Fox the movie happened to be playing in theaters so on a dull night, we went. After the movie, having woke up from her mid-movie slumber, my German friend dryly noted, “German’s don’t like those kind of movies” while she disapprovingly shook her head. Now, I don’t know what she meant by that. I’m sure some German’s like stop-motion and witty humor, but that’s not the point. The point is, there exists another Fantastic Mr. Fox (a.k.a. Stephen Gomberg) that I’m sure the Germans WILL like. Coincidentally, … Continue reading

Boerd – Slacker EP

I’m such a sucker for minimal/house/electronica/futureblap/funkyblip/jungle grime?… now I’m just making up names, but it’s gotta have the blip and the blap if I’ma like it! ya dig? ?(o_0)\ Aaaanyway, here’s a new track by a swedish dude named Bård Ericson, who also goes by Boerd. The first, aptly titled “Happy Again”, is mos def a smile jam. The second, “Nostalgica”, sounds like the intro to an amazingly cool adventure, no? Both are part of the full Slacker EP. All sorts of cool up in here. Tweet

Kezla – The Motion EP

Yet another young producer from Leeds (in reference to my previous post about Kindnap Kid). There must be something in the water. Kezla (a.k.a Kieran McDermott) is offering up some raw, old school house. Seeing that I wasn’t there at the beginning, I appreciate that these 20 somethings are bringing it back so we can enjoy it in a whole new light. Out now on Love Not Money Records. I’ve already repeated this EP like a ga-billion times. Truth. Tweet

Afrojack & R3hab – Prutataaa

It seems like we’re going to be seeing alot more from R3hab in the coming months. This dude is just killing it, and when he teams up with fellow dutch native Afrojack the result is legendary. Just a word of advice, dont judge this track until you’ve plugged it into your big speakers. Just sayin. R3hab – The Bottle Song

Here we’ve got a track from DJ R3hab. This guy hasn’t been around too long and is already leaving his mark in clubs around the world. Recently signed to Afrojack’s label “Wall Recordings,” R3hab is here to stay. Consisting of screechy high-pitched synths, lots of drums, and ridiculous amounts of energy, his productions are of the “Dirty Dutch” style (which walk an obnoxiously thin line between brutally annoying and absolute fire). Who could have ever imagined such unorthodox sounds would be so well accepted by the general public? Apparently Afrojack did, and as a result him and his “dirty dutch” crew are taking over the … Continue reading

Ian Carey – Last Night (Afrojack Remix)

Another monster from Dutch producer Afrojack is upon us. The remix of Ian Carey’s “Last Night” featuring vocals from Snoop Dogg and Bobby Anthony, is a 100% Mr. Francois certified banger. One thing is clear about Afrojack, and its that he likes to have fun. Sampling and looping something like “where’s the bathroom at cuz i really gotta pee” over and over again is definitely his way of saying: “i can make this track as silly and stupid as i possibly can, and its still going to murder.” Also included is R3hab’s take on the track. DIRTY DUTCH! [Audio clip: view full … Continue reading

Diddy – Coming Home (Dirty South Club Mix)

The latest remix from Australia’s Dirty South has been murdering clubs since its release just before this years Miami Music Week. Its got a dope bassline, sexy vocals, and Diddy saying “lets go!” before each drop. This track has been getting plays from absolutely everyone, and (from personal experience) it CRUSHES! Highlight from Miami was Morillo dropping this with a drunk Diddy doing work on the mic. Sheer epicness. Axwell – Heart Is King

Axwell is back with his new single “Heart is King.” Its not hard to understand why the Swedish House Mafia are dominating the dance music scene when they’ve got three of the dopest producers working together. Axwell gives us a taste of what he’s all about. Complete with Daft Punk-ish synth stabs, an insane break/build, and heart beat samples… all i can say is… “i got nothing but love.” [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Axwell – Heart Is King Tweet

Steve Angello & Alex Metric – Open Your Eyes

I dont really know what to say about the recent collaboration between Steve Angello and British producer Alex Metric. The result of these two producers combining forces is undoubtably one of the best tracks of 2011. Unlike many collaborations, this track evenly showcases the musical talents from both producers, blending them together to create something special. This tracks got the unbelievably epic chords we can all expect from SHM’s Angello, and the pounding dirty basslines by Alex Metric. #WINNING Download: Steve Angello & Alex Metric – Open Your Eyes [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet

Fedde Le Grand – “Running” & “Autosave”

Everyone and their grandmothers have heard the track “put your hands up for detroit.” Those six words shot Fedde Le Grand into DJ superstardom, where he instantly became a household name in the world of house music. However, since then he’s kinda just skimmed the surface as a producer without really releasing anything noteworthy. In the last year Fedde finally got his ass to work, and released some really really dope tracks. Judging by the success of his recent performances in Miami and Coachella, the spotlight is on Fedde again. Here we’ve got two tracks that have been generating some … Continue reading
