J. Cole – Problems

J. Cole’s about to cross the mainstream line, and “Problems” should help him get where he wants to be. “Lights Please” was the first track I heard from the North Carolina native, and I thought he had something special.  Since then, he was featured on The Blueprint 3, and is poised to drop his first studio album, Cole World, later this year.  Keep on the lookout for that. As for The Chuckness, we’re getting ready to go live with what we’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks.  I’m not going to set a specific date because I’m … Continue reading

J. Cole- Who Dat

The clean/unmixed version of this song dropped yesterday and I decided to wait  until the real track got dropped.  J. Cole  is a monster and this song off of his debut album just proves it more. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: J. Cole- Who Dat Tweet

J. Cole- We On (Prod. by J.Cole)

Every time this Roc Nation signee drops material it is quality, but J. Cole tossed some of his own production on this track and the end result is pretty dope…Enjoy [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: J.Cole- We On (Prod. by J. Cole) Tweet

Young Chris- Still The Hottest (Feat. J.Cole)

Here is a new track off of Young Chris’ next album featuring his fellow ROC Nation label mate, J. Cole.  Both their verses start off with a play off of a line from Kanye’s “Through The Wire”.  J. Cole is one of my favorite new school rappers… he doesn’t really overflow the market with content, so it’s good to hear something new from him.   Enjoy… [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Young Chris- Still The Hottest (Feat. J. Cole – Knock On Wood

One of the more hyped up-and-comers in 2010 (not sure if he even qualifies as a rookie anymore) takes the beat from Common and John Mayer’s “Go!” and puts his own spin on it.  I remember being let down when that song first dropped just because it was beyond repetitive…but I’m liking what J. Cole did to this. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: J. Cole – Knock On Wood Tweet

B.o.B- May 25th (Mixtape)

B.o.B aka Bobby Ray dropped this mixtape yesterday and in classic B.o.B fashion he does not disappoint at all.  I love how B.o.B’s sound is so unique, infusing hip hop and rock together perfectly.  I listened to the whole tape a couple times through and it is something that should be in everyone’s music library.  Look out for Bobby Ray’s album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which comes out on May 25th (I wonder where he got the name for this mixtape?) of this year.  Here are some standouts: B.o.B- The Rain [Audio clip: view full post to listen] B.o.b … Continue reading

J. Cole – Lights Please

J. Cole is an up-and-comer who’s the first artist to sign to Jay-Z’s new label Roc Nation.  He was signed immediately after Jay-Z heard this track, and then later featured on The Blueprint 3…not a bad year for him- [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet
