Kid Cudi – Teleport 2 Me, Jamie

Whenever a hip-hop artist attempts to make a “rock” album, the shit sucks. That’s a proven fact. We’re lucky then that I can’t really consider Kid Cudi to be a “rapper”. He’s always been too spacey and weird to be contained in a stereotypical genre like that. The uneducated say that his upcoming WZRD album is him attempting to go the rock route — but again, he’s too bizarre to just attempt a rock album. I see it as him wanting to explore other sounds and mess with different kinds of productions from what he’s grown accustomed to. With that … Continue reading

Steve Aoki (feat. KiD CuDi & Travis Barker) – CuDi The Kid

A wild little trio we have right here. Steve Aoki, Kid Cudi and Travis Barker linked up for a new track off of Aoki’s upcoming album Wonderland. Not so sure if I can get into this one at the moment — but it definitely attempts to intertwine the different musical styles from these three distinct artists. That in itself is worth some praise. What do you think? Tweet

WZRD (Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius) – Brake

Kid Cudi’s upcoming project with Dot Da Genius (Cudi + Dot Da Genius = WZRD) will result in a new album come January 30th. Apparently it’s a “rock album” consisting of jams like this, with no profanity involved whatsoever. He couldn’t wait to let the world in on some of their new music, so he let “Brake” go via Twitter tonight — not entirely up my alley… what do you guys think? KiD CuDi – To Da Top (Unreleased)

I can’t get over how absurdly hectic the past 24 hours in music have been — but that’s how this shit works. You go days without anything, and then in a 24 hour span a handful of the most hyped up albums of the fall get dumped on your plate. Wild. To add to the mayhem, here’s an unreleased track from Cudi’s camp that found it’s way onto the interwebz today. Has a similar feel to his debut album days, no? Wale (feat. KiD CuDi) – Focused

EB might blow a gasket over this one — his DC boy Wale just dropped another look into his upcoming album Ambition. After their initial love, then beef, then back to love, Wale hit up Cudi for the hook, and he delivers. Hit it below, and pick up Ambition on 11/1/11. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Wale (feat. KiD CuDi) – Focused Actually, after a second look, “Focused” doesn’t look to be on the album tracklist. I heard a lot of hype about this one, so I find that hard to believe; but check out the tracklist below: … Continue reading

The Knux (feat. KiD CuDi) – Run (Video)

We have some more visuals featuring Scott Mescudi for you today. His collaboration with the N.O. based hip-hop duo The Knux was released a few months ago; and the official video just made it’s way to the world wide web today. Check it out above. Tweet

KiD CuDi – Mr. Rager (Video)

Here are the visuals for Cudi’s “Mr. Rager”, off of last year’s Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. As the video/mini-movie shows, the dude seems to be into the whole acting game. The second season of HBO’s How To Make It In America kicks off October 2nd. Tweet

2Pac/KiD CuDi – Pursuit of Changes (Dosvec Remix)

Mash-ups are old news and generally shitty — I hear you. Make an exception on this one though. It’s been floating around for a while…but some bro by the name of Dosvec figured 2Pac’s “Changes” and Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” would flow well together, and he was right. That’s about all there is with this one, but it’s a good addition to the library. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: 2Pac/KiD CuDi – Pursuit of Changes (Dosvec Remix) Tweet

Back.

That award-winning photograph you see above was taken with my bare hands, and is the reason for the lack of posts to the site lately. It’s from a little place I like to call The Island, way up in northern Maine. No television, no internet, just straight natural beauty. I’ve been spending one week on The Island all 23 years of my life, and while the wheels of the world turn and things endlessly change, there’s a constant magic about this place; because everything stays exactly the same. Every single year you’re treated to the same, unbelievably striking sunset that … Continue reading
