Lupe Fiasco – Lightwork (feat. Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar)

Gonna be honest, Lupe’s one of the more annoying dudes to follow on Twitter. The other day though, he was saying how the pre-concert, hype-up jam of his tour had been Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”. Didn’t see that one coming in the slightest. It was only a matter of time before he jumped on it himself to lay down a few bars. Keep your eyes open for a mixtape coming from him around Thanksgiving titled Friend Of The People. As always, get educated with the lyrical breakdowns from the minds over at Rap Genius: Lupe Fiasco – Lightwork … Continue reading

Ellie Goulding – Lights (RAC Remix)

I’ve received a fair amount of shit from my roommate for continuously posting the photo of me and Ellie whenever I do a post of one of her tracks, and although it’s difficult, I’m opting for another picture here. “Lights” has been one of the most remixed songs of the year, to the point where I really struggle to listen to any version of the song whatsoever now. What used to be a clear-cut favorite of mine has now been remixed and sampled and remixed again, to the point where I had no choice but to move on. That is … Continue reading

Ellie Goulding – Lights (Bassnectar Remix)

I always find myself a little bit behind on new dubstep jams that come out because it is very hit or miss for me.  This track came out a little while ago, I saw it on Hype Machine and I also skipped over it when my friend Julia sent it to me via facebook.  I finally downloaded it and am happy I did.  Bassnectar has created quite a following over the past year and I had the opportunity of seeing him perform in Colorado last fall.  Mainly I decided to go to the show because my friend Heather hooked it … Continue reading

Potomac Boys Club (Brenton Duvall & Patrick McKelvy) – Lights! (Ellie Goulding/Waka Flocka/Wale)

I received this new track last night from Brenton Duvall and a counterpart of his, Patrick McKelvy. Brenton’s been taking the remix game by storm the past few months, and it appears he’s enlisted the help of one of his boys from home on this one. As we all know, Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” is one of my favorite tracks of the year, so I got all amped up when I saw Brenton was taking it on. Add in a little Waka Flocka and a verse from Wale, and you have yourself an illogical gem. Hit the stream and download below. … Continue reading

Ellie Goulding – The Writer (Friends Electric Remix)/ “Your Song” Video

The goddess of England and fan-favorite of The Chuckness is re-releasing her debut album, Lights, and it’s due out on November 29th in the UK. Her tracks “Lights” and “Your Biggest Mistake” have made some waves on the site; so this news should excite you all. Titled Bright Lights, Ellie’s re-release consists of seven new tracks, which will undeniably be gold. I’ve yet to find any information on a US release date, but we’re generally a good year behind Europe when it comes to new music so I’d expect her to make a splash in 2011 over here. Regardless, I … Continue reading

Ellie Goulding – Your Biggest Mistake

Alright that’s it, fuck it. I can’t keep this to myself anymore. Ellie Goulding is a pure goddess, and “Your Biggest Mistake” literally has over 100 plays in the past couple of weeks. Is it a chick jam? Is it questionable to blast in public? I don’t know, and I could care less.  It’s 3 minutes and 25 seconds of pure audio gold. I really wish there was another way around it, but there just isn’t. It features Ellie dropping an epic chorus…and don’t even get me started when 2:14 comes around. Some of you come to this site for … Continue reading

Ellie Goulding – Lights

I don’t know what prompted me to go on an Ellie Goulding rampage last night, but something came over me. I think it started with me listening to Chiddy Bang’s “Under The Sheets”, which samples her track of the same title. I was in need of some new music, and I wanted to see why she was causing such a ruckus in the UK. I got a hold of her debut album, Lights, and in all honesty, it’s awesome. It’s a blend of electro/indie music, and for some reason it just hit my ears at the right moment. Here’s a … Continue reading

J. Cole – Lights Please

J. Cole is an up-and-comer who’s the first artist to sign to Jay-Z’s new label Roc Nation.  He was signed immediately after Jay-Z heard this track, and then later featured on The Blueprint 3…not a bad year for him- [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet
