Drake (feat. Lil Wayne & Tyga) – The Motto (Official Video)

This is too easy. Drake obviously doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks about him — but what the FUCK is with the Nike athletic gloves everywhere he goes? Literally everywhere he goes, he’s wearing these things. No but seriously, everywhere he goes. Just ready to catch a football at all times of the day. And the leopard-print North Face jacket??? Are you shitting me??? To make matters worse, his boy Wayne isn’t helping him out much by casually sporting NEON GREEN UGGS. This place is fucking bizarroworld. Can’t wait for the next video shoot featuring Hello Kitty backpacks and … Continue reading

Betty Wright & The Roots (feat. Lil Wayne) – Grapes On A Vine

The talented Betty Wright helped out Wayne with a cameo back on Tha Carter III, when she featured on “Playing With Fire”. It looks like he’s returning the favor here, as he adds a verse of his own for a track off her upcoming collaborative album with The Roots. I was hesitant at first, but Wayne definitely goes back to his roots on this one; he’s the perfect complement for this particular beat. Betty Wright: The Movie drops next Tuesday. [via 2DB] Tweet

Drake (feat. Lil Wayne) – The Motto

Drake just let go of this mastered version of “The Motto”, one of the bonus tracks off of Take Care. According to the Toronto native, the tracklist that was released yesterday is not entirely accurate — as a couple of features weren’t listed (including this one). So far, it sounds like he’s covering all the bases on his sophomore album. He’s got the R&B Drake fans covered. He’s got the rap Drake fans covered. He’s got the features he needs. Even the Wheelchair Jimmy fans are amped. Take Care on 11/15. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Drake – The … Continue reading

M83/Lil Wayne – My Tears Are Becoming John

“Post more mash-ups!” “Don’t post any mash-ups!” “Post mash-ups, we love mash-ups!” “If you post another mash-up I’m driving to Boston and lighting you on fire while you sleep.” You guys are demanding as shit. I don’t post that many mash-ups, but when I do, I make sure they’re straight gold. And this, my friends, is primo gold. The producer behind it all, Emynd, takes M83′s  “My Tears are Becoming a Sea” and the Wayne/Rick Ross anthem “John”, and fuses them together into one fluid track. Applause. B.o.B. (feat. Lil Wayne) – Strange Clouds

A nice little Google Image search of “Strange Clouds” return this doozie of a photo, claiming to be “the hands of God”. If this shit isn’t Photoshopped then I don’t know what is. Arguably the most blatant use of a photo editing program I’ve ever seen in my life; but that’s neither here nor there. This is B.o.B.’s first single off his sophomore, yet untitled album — which is due out before the end of 2011. Unfortunately, I can’t look at the man the same after reading this article on how he absolutely hosed a small local bar in Cornell … Continue reading

Lil Wayne – Tha Carter IV (Album Review)

Things have changed since 2008. Three years ago, Lil Wayne was just about reaching the zenith of hip-hop stardom. With his unlimited mixtape releases and his never-ending features on Billboard smash hits, the hype for Tha Carter III‘s release could not have been bigger. It goes without saying that the album debuted at number one on the US Billboard Chart, selling well over one million copies in it’s first week. ONE MILLION COPIES.  Teenybopper girls from the white suburbs and cornerboys on the streets of West Baltimore alike went out and bought the album. Wayne had every demographic in the palm … Continue reading

Lil Wayne – It’s Good (feat. Drake & Jadakiss)

From Bon Iver and James Blake to The Godfather to Wayne’s new one off Tha Carter IV? Shit’s getting weird around here. Wayne recruits features from Drake and Jadakiss on this one — and it lives up to the hype. Tha Carter IV will be released on iTunes directly following the VMA’s this Sunday — get out and support. Back.

That award-winning photograph you see above was taken with my bare hands, and is the reason for the lack of posts to the site lately. It’s from a little place I like to call The Island, way up in northern Maine. No television, no internet, just straight natural beauty. I’ve been spending one week on The Island all 23 years of my life, and while the wheels of the world turn and things endlessly change, there’s a constant magic about this place; because everything stays exactly the same. Every single year you’re treated to the same, unbelievably striking sunset that … Continue reading

Lil Wayne – Sorry 4 The Wait (Mixtape)

Mixtape Wayne returns today, as he follows through on his promise to let go of a new mixtape before his studio album, Tha Carter IV.  The tape features 12 tracks, and as it just dropped a few hours ago, I haven’t listened to it enough to give you my official opinion. Give it a listen for yourselves, and let me know if it lives up to your expectations. Granted, mixtape expectations should be significantly less than album expectations. Lil Wayne – Dear Anne (Stan Pt. 2)

Wayne follows up Eminem’s “Stan” with his own story about his biggest fan. This is the side of Lil Wayne that hasn’t been seen in a while; that story-telling, emotional style that worked so well for him in the past. Word on the street is it’s not going to be on Tha Carter IV, but regardless, it should be added to any Wayne fans library. Check it out for yourself below.
