Mac Miller – Jerry’s Record Store

People have been giving Mac Miller some shit for his debut album, Blue Slide Park, but it’s hard to argue with the numbers he put up. The other day he decided to ring in the new year with a track devoted to a record shop in Pittsburgh — and it brings back the Mac Miller vibe that people were so attracted to in the first place. Mac Miller – Blue Slide Park (Album Review)

Mac Miller walks a fine line. On one side is the well-respected, elite hip-hop world, on the other is the land of aggravating, mind-numbing frat rap. So far, Mac’s managed to establish himself as more than a legitimate hip-hop artist, his absurdly loyal fan base is the number one testament to that. At the same time, there are people out there who don’t think he belongs in any conversation with note-worthy hip-hop up and comers. The general reception of Blue Slide Park, his debut studio album, will establish which side of the line Mac falls on. Not that he cares in … Continue reading

Mac Miller – PA Nights

Mac Miller’s debut album is about to hit shelves, and he’s let go another cut off the project to hold us over until November 8th. I’m pretty hit or miss with the PA native, but this one hits me the right way. Either way, you gotta respect what he’s accomplished. Looking forward to seeing what he’s put together on Blue Slide Park. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet

Mac Miller- I Love Life, Thank You (Mixtape)

Props to the shoutbox on this one.  Mac Miller had a surprise for when he reached one million followers on twitter.  That surprise is the mixtape we have here.  I haven’t given this much of a listen yet, but from first glance it looks intriguing, with features from Bun B, Sir Michael Rocks (Cool Kids), Talib Kweli, and 9th wonder.  Hit the link below and support Mac Miller’s album that is due out November 8th. Mac Miller – Blue Slide Park

Mac Miller’s debut album is due out November 8th — and he made a deal with his fans that if he sold 25,000 pre-orders, he’d drop the title track for free. So that’s what we have here. If he sells 50,000 pre-orders, he’ll donate $50,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and if he sells 100,000 pre-orders, he’s dropping the album immediately (before the release date). Support his efforts by pre-ordering the album on iTunes, and download the title track below. 9th Wonder (feat. Mac Miller & Heather Victoria) – That’s Love

The legendary producer by the name of 9th Wonder just unleashed a track off of his upcoming album The Wonder Years, which drops this Tuesday. Mac Miller delivers a couple of verses over the soulful beat, and Heather Victoria adds in some “oohs and ahhs” for the crowd. I dig. Mac Miller – Frick Park Market

“Frick Park Market” is the first track we’ve heard off of Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Slide Park, and he’s accompanied the release with this goofy-ass video. Pick up the single on iTunes. Tweet

Mac Miller – Best Day Ever (Video)

This is the kind of thing that has led to Mac Miller’s unbelievably huge following. The creativity behind this video is second to none, and it’s awesome to see people still putting thought into the visuals of their music. You really can’t go wrong with the home video route. On top of that, it fits perfectly with arguably my favorite track off of his last mixtape. Tweet

Mac Miller (feat. Chiddy) – Open Your Eyes

Here’s a new collaboration between up and comers Mac Miller and Chiddy. It’s unusual to see Chiddy record anything without being next to Xaphoon Jones, but apparently this beat comes from elsewhere. Regardless, this should be getting significant play from me this week, even with the incredibly out of place gunshots at the 2:11 mark. Catchy sample on this one — anybody know what it is off the top of your head? Let me know. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Mac Miller (feat. Chiddy) – Open Your Eyes Tweet

Mac Miller – Love Lost

Mac Miller recently released “Love Lost” in response to gaining 400,000 Twitter followers. A lot of artists are doing the whole free giveaway thing when they hit a certain number of followers, which is a blatant win-win for everybody. Here, Mac samples The Temper Trap’s “Love Lost”, and tosses in a couple of laid back verses for us all. A good addition to the library; give it a listen below.
