Miike Snow – Paddling Out (Official Video)

Here we have the official video for Miike Snow’s infectious “Paddling Out”, off their upcoming album — and it’s weird as HELL. It begins with an empty whiskey bottle on the ground, labeled “Banana Juice” — and continues to follow some overweight version of William H. Macy in Shameless as he gets grotesquely operated on by a crew of horrifying Quaker-like young girls. Dancing is involved. So yeah, that is all. Check it out. Tweet

Miike Snow (feat. Lykke Li) – Black Tin Box

Miike Snow’s upcoming sophomore album Happy To You is right at the top of my most anticipated listens of 2012. We’ve gotten two early listens so far, in the form of “Devil’s Work” and “Paddling Out”, and their camp just released a stream of their collaboration witih indie darling/fellow Swede Lykke Li. “Black Tin Box” isn’t going to jump out at you and demand to be your new favorite song — but I have a feeling that it’ll fit in perfectly with the surrounding songs on the album. We’ll see on March 27th. [via Pitchfork] Tweet

Miike Snow – Paddling Out

Miike Snow’s sophomore album Happy To You is due out on March 27th, and it’s been building an incredible amount of hype over the past few weeks. The first listen we got our hands on off the new project was in the form of the addictive “Devil’s Work”, and “Paddling Out” builds off the same elements that have made them such a popular band in such a short amount of time. Can’t help but love their sound. 2012 will be good to them. Tweet

Miike Snow – Devil’s Work (Film Accompaniment)

Last week we were given an initial listen to Miike Snow’s next glimpse off of their sophomore album, and this week we have the official “film accompaniment”. It’s not a music video, it’s a film accompaniment. Don’t get it twisted. The best comment on the YouTube page? “I like the part when he ran.” Tweet

Miike Snow – Devil’s Work

Miike Snow was responsible for one of my favorite albums of 2009 — and since then, they’ve kept an unbelievably low profile. Sure they’ve toured around plenty, but I want to say it’s been well over a year since we’ve heard anything new from the Swedish synth rockers. That might not be a fact, but I’m gonna go with it — maybe it’s just felt like a long time because I abused the hell out of their debut album. Regardless, their new album (still untitled) is slated for a 2012 release, and “Devil’s Work” is our first look into their … Continue reading

Miike Snow – Animal (J_D’s Remix)

I’m over “Animal” remixes entirely; but that’s not going to stop me from posting this one. This kid named Justin, who goes by JD, sent this my way yesterday, and my expectations were slim prior to pressing play; but everything changed for me rather quickly. JD has successfully injected Miike Snow’s hit with a late night, European club feel; and it’s nearly flawless. Plus he digs Explosions in the Sky, so this was a shoe-in. “What’s goin on Chuck?  I’m a long time follower and fan of your website.  I get a lot of gems from you, like Explosions in … Continue reading

Sky Ferreira – Animal (Miike Snow Cover)

Is Sky a closet stunner? Not sure why I never noticed this before… This has been sitting in my library for borderline a full calendar year now, but for some reason it’s just getting the attention that it deserves. I think I got a hold of it back in the day when everyone was covering Miike Snow’s “Animal”, so at the time, it was just another cover. I had a craving for Sky Ferreira’s “One” the other day, noticed her version of “Animal” was o n the iPod as well, and here we are. Check out Sky’s Stevie Nicks cover … Continue reading

Mickey Factz – In Search Of

Mickey Factz takes Miike Snow’s “In Search Of” instrumental, and lays some lines down on top of it. Pretty much what you would expect; and it’s sending me right back into a Miike Snow phase. Hit the stream and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Mickey Factz – In Search Of [via] Tweet

Swedish House Mafia (feat. John Martin) – Save The World Tonight

Jimbo recently described Swedish House Mafia as a “house music titan”, which is pretty spot on. The three acclaimed DJ’s have just premiered their most recent single, featuring John Martin of Miike Snow. It’s more or less an instant party when you press play, no matter who is around you. We’ll have the CDQ as soon as it’s available. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Swedish House Mafia (feat. John Martin) – Save The World Tonight Tweet

Miike Snow – Black & Blue (Netsky Remix)

I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of well put together Miike Snow remixes. Netsky’s take on “Black & Blue” adds a little more pep to the original, and it’s extremely well done. Just when I thought I was getting over their debut album, something like this comes along and throws me right back in. Netsky, I salute you.
