Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. (feat. Miike Snow & Boy George) – Somebody To Love Me

I snagged Mark Ronson & The Business Intl.’s album, Record Collection a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been sitting on it. Just never got around to giving the whole thing a listen…which was my mistake. The album features a ton of different styles, from Ghostface Killa to Boy George (who has to be at least 75 years old…pretty normal looking guy). Ronson’s got an eclectic taste, and the album hits all demographics. “Somebody To Love Me” is a solid representation of the kind of catchy material that you can find on Record Collection. Check it out. [Audio clip: view full … Continue reading

Swedish House Mafia Documentary Trailer + Swedish House Mafia x Miike Snow- Silvia to Ibiza

Here is a trailer for a documentary on the Swedish House Mafia that will be released on November 22nd.  I just recently started listening to this trio and they’re super good.  To give you a background, check out the huge song they did this summer with Pharell and then one of my favorite tracks right now “Miami to Ibiza”.  I also have a mash-up of “Miami to Ibiza” and Miike Snow’s “Silvia” done by a guy named Myndset.  This track has gotten serious rotation as I’ve been studying pretty heavy for the 4 tests that I have this week.  Enjoy … Continue reading

Miike Snow – In For The Kill (La Roux Cover)

Continuing with the La Roux theme here, I came across Miike Snow’s recent live cover of “In For The Kill”, and had to toss it up on the site. If you’re a fan of the new age Swedish group, then this will not disappoint. They turn La Roux’s track into a hauntingly eerie listen with a completely different personality and vibe. Definitely worth checking out. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Miike Snow – In For The Kill (La Roux Cover) [via] Tweet

Miike Snow – The Rabbit

I somehow missed this fresh track from Miike Snow, which isn’t on their debut album (but apparently is on the deluxe version?).  It’s a full display of what they do best, creating distinct, synthesized pop gems.  Their self-titled album is still one of my favorite listens, and this fits right in with the rest of their work. Miike Snow – Billie Holiday

Here’s a track that didn’t quite make Miike Snow’s tremendously underrated self-titled release.  Off their B-Sides, this would’ve fit right in with the rest of their studio album…not really sure why it didn’t make the cut.  While their music is all pretty similar, I’m still spinning their album like it’s nobody’s business…and it goes without saying that I was intrigued when some of their unreleased material landed in my hands.  Give it a go. Miike Snow – Animal

I know I did a couple Miike Snow posts a while back, but this is been getting a lot of play over here so it’s worth sharing with you.  Their self-titled album is really something to look into if you haven’t already.  Fell with the initial find. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet

Miike Snow – Black and Blue

Miike Snow (no it’s not a typo) is a Swedish indie-rock band that’s been receiving a significant amount of praise lately from people all over the music industry.  Their self-titled debut album was released earlier this year…props to Fell for enlightening me.  Check out “Black and Blue”: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Tweet
