Mike Posner (feat. Bun B) – Rocket Man

Gonna go ahead and continue to nurture the college demographic here. Mike Posner’s upcoming mixtape The Layover is due out November 20th, and he gave us a sneak peak of the Elton John-inspired “Rocket Man” today. Not sure what to expect from the upcoming project; I’ve been really into both mixtapes of his to date, but his debut album didn’t do much for me. Dude’s still killing it though, so he could care less what some petty blogger has to say about him. Thoughts on the Bun B feature? Bei Maejor (feat. Mike Posner) – They Call Me

I posted the rough cut of this a while back, and I’ve been sitting on the official version here that features Posner. My fault. Not that the track really needed anything else; honestly I’m not sure if the beat even needed lyrics to go with it in the first place; the Fitz and the Tantrums sample is too good. Anyways, if you’re sick of the original version, maybe Posner’s vocals will give you the spice that you need. Off Bei Major’s mixtape Maejor Maejor. Mike Posner (feat. Rusko) – Shut Up

This post is going up strictly for the reaction from you guys. I need to know. I saw Mike Posner, and I saw Rusko as the producer, and I got excited. I hit play, and the dude is singing about shitty emotions with a 19 year old girl all over again. He does this legitimately every song. I like you Posner, I do. I really do. This jam would probably be a banger if you were singing about anything else. Literally anything else. It’s just that when you drop “My friends are gonna ask me if I hit it//So please … Continue reading

Mike Posner – The Scientist (Coldplay Remix)

A new remix from Mike Posner was just released; and past experience has trained me to get more excited about these then his album material. He made the beat himself, as he normally does, and there’s no doubting that his production skills are top notch. I think I’m a fan of this remix? The beat is pretty awesome, his voice kind of bothers me — I can’t quite make my mind up. What do we think? Hit the jump for a little video from Maestro Knows showing Posner inside the studio making the beat. [Audio clip: view full post to … Continue reading

Big Sean – I Do It

Big Sean just dropped his second single off his upcoming debut album Finally Famous: The Album, which is set to release June 21st. Naturally, it’s titled “I Do It”, as that’s one of two items in his vocabulary, the other being “Boi”. Which I still find hysterical… but it’s undoubtedly working out for him. He was bound to devote an entire track to both trademarks. His first single “My Last” got a hold of me back when it first was released, and it’s currently tearing up the radio — this could soon follow the same footsteps. [Audio clip: view full … Continue reading

Mike Posner – Rolling In The Deep (Adele Cover)

Just came across this new release from Posner, and it sounds like his style of old. If he cranked out remixes and covers like this, instead of “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”…I’d say there might be hope. Adele’s original is just an awesome song all the way around, and Posner’s cover isn’t half bad either…definitely worth picking up. Listen and download below. Mike Posner (feat. Lil Wayne) – Bow Chicka Wow Wow (Remix)

Damnit Posner. The potential was through the roof with this kid. I still follow what he’s up to and try to keep track of the moves he’s making, but it’s tough when he’s legitimately releasing “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” as his third single. And he got Wayne on the remix??? It’s wild how huge he’s gotten in a single year. From making beats in his dorm room, to getting Lil Wayne on his own song…it’s crazy. I don’t mean to hate on him, nor do I want to be that guy that all of a sudden despises an artist when … Continue reading

Mike Posner – Please Don’t Go (Hype Jones & Pierce Fulton Damn She Bad Radio Mix)

You would think this remix crew could shorten their name a little bit; that just took me a solid 75 seconds to type out. Who knew that the Hype Jones & Pierce Fulton Damn She Bad Radio Mix would be worth listening to? They take on Posner’s second radio smash “Please Don’t Go” and inject it with more dance vibes. If you don’t like the original you’re just lying to yourself…and this is just as good. You know what I love? That “Whooooooooosh” sound that’s so popular in the build-up stage of techno jams.  You’ll hear it at the 30 … Continue reading

Brenton Duvall – That’s All (Gucci Mane) Remix & Cooler Than Me (Mike Posner) Remix

This UC-Boulder remix king continues to add to his resume, with the help of his most recent tracks. He puts his token, creative spin on Gucci Mane’s “That’s All” and Mike Posner’s radio anthem “Cooler Than Me”, and as always, the result is gold. I hope that he’s making individual beats on the side in attempt to sell them to other artists; he’s too good not to make it. Let me know what you think. Mike Posner – 31 Minutes To Takeoff (Album Review)

Mike Posner’s debut album dropped tonight.  I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I heard his first mixtape last summer, A Matter of Time…and it pains me to say that you’re much better off sticking with his mixtapes.  Plain and simple. Listen to A Matter of Time and his follow up mixtape, One Foot Out The Door, and you hear pure potential blasting out the speakers. He made his own beats and had an infectious, bizarre voice that flowed perfectly on top of his production. When he was coming up, he was something different and unique, yet it resonated … Continue reading
