XV – Zero Heroes (Mixtape)

XV just released his latest mixtape a few minutes ago titled Zero Heroes, his first since Vizzy Zone last fall. I haven’t been through the whole thing yet, but based off of a few select tracks I heard, you’re gonna want to add this to your arsenal. I’ll toss up a few highlights as soon as I’ve given it a complete listen. Hit the download below. Not done listening yet, but this jam is too good: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: XV – That’s Just Me Download: XV – Zero Heroes (Mixtape) Tweet

Frank Ocean – Swim Good

You may know Frank Ocean from Odd Future. You may not. Regardless, his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra is the complete opposite spectrum of Odd Future. They’re known for terrifying, absurdly dark and controversial tracks about anything and everything you could think of. Check this footage of them performing live on Jimmy Fallon for a taste. Yeah…like I said. You see how horrified everyone is? It’s hysterical. However, Frank Ocean is going in a completely different direction from his group with this mixtape. “Swim Good” is borderline smooth R&B, but it’s got this mysterious X-factor that keeps me coming back for more. … Continue reading

Mac Miller – Best Day Ever (Mixtape)

Mac Miller just released his most recent, highly anticipated mixtape tonight. I’ve really come around on this kid, especially after my current undeniable addiction to “Donald Trump”. The project in it’s entirety should be enough for you all to form some kind of opinion on the 19 year old from Pittsburgh, so it’s worth downloading. You’ll undoubtedly be hearing his name in the future, so you might as well figure out how you feel about him. Stream and download the project in it’s entirety below. OCD: Moosh & Twist – “City Kids”/ Up Before The World (Mixtape)

I stumbled across these two 17 year olds from Philly the other week, and they just released their most recent mixtape about half an hour ago. Sampling Journey is an atrocious idea, but they absolutely kill it here. Successfully sampling one of the most abused songs of all time and having me as the listener want to replay it immediately is an absurd feat. Download “City Kids” and the mixtape in it’s entirety below. In other news, the white kid looks like he’s legitimately 9 years old. I mean I’m absolutely certain that I used to play Knockout with this … Continue reading

Xaphoon Jones Mixtape Vol. 2 Trailer

Uh oh. This one’s gonna be serious. Xaphoon Jones (Chiddy Bang) is releasing his second mixtape on April 1st. You’re gonna want to take the next 3 weeks to prepare your ears for this. Tweet

jj – Kills (Mixtape)

It’s 11:30 pm, and everyone’s Christmas day is finally dying down. Presents have been unwrapped, dinner’s been eaten, the extended family has left the house, and the majority of those that celebrate Christmas are approaching some high quality REM sleep. What better time to get completely mindfucked by some eerie Swedish pop? jj (they spell it lowercase on purpose for no apparent reason) takes on a bunch of popular hip-hop beats that we’re familiar with, and add their ghostly vocals on top to hit you with some trippy musical drugs. Hit a few highlights, and download the mixtape in it’s … Continue reading

J. Cole – Friday Night Lights (Mixtape)

J. Cole’s latest mixtape just dropped, and I’ve yet to start it up, but I can all but guarantee great things. He’s a rapper that’s so unbelievably close to crossing the threshold into making it huge…but he’s not quite there. Granted he was featured on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 without having an album to his name…but he’s yet to take over the country with a single of his own. It’s just a matter of time before it happens…and I think he’ll get there when his debut album, Cole World, drops next month. Hit a few select tracks below, check the tracklist … Continue reading

Hoodie Allen – Pep Rally (Mixtape)

Hoodie Allen took over the blogosphere with ease a couple months ago after releasing his remix of Marina & the Diamonds’ “You Are Not A Robot”. Since then, he’s been perpetually gaining steam, and it’s culminating with the release of Pep Rally. I don’t love him and I don’t hate him…I was way into “You Are Not A Robot”, but the other material hasn’t quite struck me the same way. Give Pep Rally a download below, and form your own opinion. SomeWhere Else – Master Basement (Mixtape)

Pigeons & Planes debuted SomeWhere Else‘s debut album/mixtape (whatever you want to call it) yesterday, and it lives up to the expectations that were set by the first few leaked tracks. The fusion of hip-hop with a live band isn’t done often, but that’s what makes this collection of songs so different from anything else out there. They could easily be a household name in the coming months, so check out what the L.A. group has to offer. Hit the download link for the album below. KiD CuDi (feat. Kanye West) – Wylin’ Cause I’m Young

Here’s a track off the G.O.O.D. Music mixtape that comes out on Monday. Pretty dark and repetitive track…not a favorite, but worth sharing. The mixtape should have some nice collaborations though…with Kanye, Big Sean, and Cudi all a part of the G.O.O.D. Music label. You’ll find it here when it drops on Monday.
