Remember Body Language? The four mega-hipsters who got me hooked on their track “You Can”? The quartet from Brooklyn recently got the RAC remix treatment on their track “Holiday”, and it does wonders. As I’ve said many times before, I’ll check out an RAC remix regardless of whether or not I know the original song — and this is a case where the skills and talents of RAC are on full display. This is a perfect representation of the brilliance that is RAC. Katie Herzig is a Colorado-born folk-rock artist, and the majority of you probably won’t recognize anything about “Free My Mind”; I’d never heard the original before. When RAC gets their hands on something, you don’t need to know the original. They make it accessible and catchy to people who don’t even know what they’re listening to. RAC Remixes at it again. They take Sunday Girl’s anthemic “Love U More”, and infuse it with their token peppy, funked out synths and bass-lines to create yet another defining remix. I feel like I’ve been throwing a ton of Theophilus London at you the past couple days, but for this one the dude Andre Anjos is going to get the shine. Anjos is the man behind RAC, and he’s been consistently providing these here interwebs with crisp, addictive remixes for a while now. Just got a brand new RAC remix sent over; and per usual it lives up to expectations. I honestly have never even heard the original “Tonight’s The Kind Of Night”, and after hearing the remix, I’m not sure how the original could top it. These dudes over at the Remix Artist Collective know exactly how to make a song their own. This is just another example of an upbeat, easy-going jam from them that’s a perfect segway into the weekend. If you follow the site, you’ll recognize this as something Xaphoon Jones has sampled twice. Once in Big Sean’s “Too Fake”, and once in Chiddy Bang’s most recent “Too Much Soul” off Peanut Butter & Swelly. Guess he’s a fan of Hockey. This time around, RAC gives it the remix treatment, and at this point I expect nothing less than gold when I see their name associated with anything. This one delivers. My ears are buzzing like you wouldn’t believe. I just got home from an unbelievable A-Trak show here in Boston, and I can’t hear shit. Delorean’s “Stay Close” was a dark horse for me last year. Last summer I went on a whim and gave their album a shot, and was hooked. “Stay Close” was easily the stand out track, so when I saw remix-king RAC took it on, I instantly hit play. It doesn’t disappoint, as RAC flawlessly adds his own flair to the track. Definitely worth checking out. I’m completely oblivious to anything Penguin Prison has released in the past. I stumbled across this track of theirs randomly today, and listened to it on a whim.
