Sam Adams (feat. Christina Perri) – Letter To The Lost

This is easily the most professional track released to date by Sam Adams, the Boston rapper who gained ridiculous popularity last year through the college scene. I always respected his success, but had a hard time taking his tracks seriously, even though some were undeniably catchy. “Letter To The Lost” though, is on a completely different level. It samples Christina Perri’s “Jar of Hearts”, and is legitimately worth the download. Hit me with your thoughts in the comment section. Sam Adams (feat. G. Curtis) – Still I Rise

Every fraternity’s favorite rapper recently re-released his debut album Boston’s Boy with a few bonus tracks…”Still I Rise” being one of them.  The dude is everybody’s guilty pleasure; and “Still I Rise” undoubtedly has the potential to make it in the radio circuits.  Not that anybody cares about the radio circuits anymore, it’s just that this track has a pop-rap, catchy vibe that could easily be seen/heard on MTV.  It’s still mindboggling how this kid took off…he just completely blindsided the music world with his social media approach, and it worked perfectly.  The dude knew his market (white suburban frat-stars) … Continue reading

Sam Adams – Heads Will Roll (Remix)

I’ve been holding off blogging about this kid since I posted “I Hate College”; I just couldn’t get a read on him.  Some of his tracks I can’t take seriously… with others, there’s no denying his talent.  I can’t lie about it, it’s a fact that the the kid from Trinity College is exploding right now.  His 8 track EP has locked up the top spot on iTunes for the hip hop genre.  Check this remix to the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Heads Will Roll” (not on the album) for a taste of his style.  He’s playing the marketing game perfectly … Continue reading

Sam Adams – I Hate College

Been getting a lot of requests to post this up here…Sam Adams is a kid from Trinity College who seems to be following Asher Roth’s path.  The new trend seems to be preppy kids from the east coast jumping into the rap game…who knew. Hailing from Wayland, MA, Adams’ flows over popular beats have been getting him a ton of attention across college campuses and in turn, from record labels.  This right here has been out since the summer, but it’s continuously gaining steam…way better than the original (not hard to do).
