Theophilus London – Last Night (LVRS Anthem)

It’s been a bit since we’ve heard any new material from last name London first name Theophilus. Five minutes ago he changed that by letting “Last Night” go via his Twitter. We all know what to expect from this guy now, and this one fits his new-wave/hip-hop mold that he’s established for himself. Hit it below. Theophilus London Live @ Moulin Rouge, Paris

So all day yesterday I’m anticipating heading over to The Paradise in Boston to catch Theophilus London’s show with Friendly Fires. At about 3 PM, he lets the world know that he’s sick and isn’t making the show. Buzzkill of the week. Gonna have to let this footage hold me over until the next time he’s in town. Tweet

Theophilus London – I Stand Alone (Video)

Here are the visuals for Theophilus London’s infectious anthem “I Stand Alone”. It’s already the soundtrack behind the promo of the second season of How To Make It In America; it’s just one of those made-for-tv jams that will probably be abused by music supervisors everywhere. Tweet

Theophilus London – I Stand Alone (Live on Jimmy Kimmel)

Great to see a guy you’ve been following for a while break through on national television. Ever since I first heard “Humdrum Town”, I knew that Theophilus had a unique X-factor which could take him places. He consistently put out material that was his own style, never was influenced by what other rappers were doing at the time, and he’s slowly but surely managed to pave his own lane in the genre. If you haven’t already, pick up his debut album Timez Are Weird These Days. An undeniably great listen from start to finish. Tweet

Theophilus London – I Stand Alone

Theophilus has been everywhere the past few weeks, as he gears up for the release of Timez Are Weird These Days, which is due out on July 19th. Whoever runs his marketing team is killing the game — you literally can’t get away from him. As we’re now a week away from the album release date, I’d assume the song leaks will stop here, but we’ll see. “I Stand Alone” was released directly through Wired yesterday. The chorus on this one sounds like something Sting might have put on the table years ago — completely different from anything else out there. … Continue reading

Theophilus London (feat. Sara Quin) – Why Even Try (RAC Remix)

I feel like I’ve been throwing a ton of Theophilus London at you the past couple days, but for this one the dude Andre Anjos is going to get the shine. Anjos is the man behind RAC, and he’s been consistently providing these here interwebs with crisp, addictive remixes for a while now. His most recent is a take on “Why Even Try”, and once again he’s turned the song upside down, while still maintaining it’s core. That’s not an easy task, but RAC nails it everytime. Theophilus London – No Particular One

Here we have a previously unreleased track from Theophilus London that was apparently recorded in one take over a year ago. It sports an undeniable Marley-esque reggae vibe, which is completely different from his “normal” style. I wouldn’t hate it if he came out with a few other jams similar to this sound; this track just equates summer. Add it to your libraries. Theophilus London – Field of Dreams (Prod. by Dave Sitek)

Theophilus London dropped this track off to Herfection as the first of many give-aways leading up to the release of his album on July 19th.  His debut album is titled “Timez Are Weird These Days” and although this particular track will not be on the debut album, it will be on a mixtape (titled “Prince TL”) dropping this fall.  This record is produced by Dave Sitek from TV On The Radio and features a smooth flow that Theophilus is always able to provide. The one thing I like about Theophilus London is that he always stays true to his style … Continue reading

Theophilus London – Last Name London

Theophilus London just released this new single off of his debut album titled Timez Are Weird These Days. Reminiscent of “Flying Overseas” and “Humdrum Town” — this is the kind of material that will bring his unusual style into the limelight of the mainstream. Let me know what you think of this one. Theophilus London (feat. Sara Q.) – Why Even Try

A new track from Theophilus London, and he’s as smooth as he’s ever been. He enlists the help from Sara Q (of Tegan and Sara fame), and in doing so he’s made this a certified gem. Mr. London’s not your normal, everyday rapper; I feel like he needs specific beats that correlate with his sound and style. This beat right here fits his vibe perfectly. Hit the stream and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Theophilus London (feat. Sara Q.) – Why Even Try [via] Tweet
