Theophilus London – Last Name London

Theophilus London just released this new single off of his debut album titled Timez Are Weird These Days. Reminiscent of “Flying Overseas” and “Humdrum Town” — this is the kind of material that will bring his unusual style into the limelight of the mainstream. Let me know what you think of this one. Theophilus London (feat. Sara Q.) – Why Even Try

A new track from Theophilus London, and he’s as smooth as he’s ever been. He enlists the help from Sara Q (of Tegan and Sara fame), and in doing so he’s made this a certified gem. Mr. London’s not your normal, everyday rapper; I feel like he needs specific beats that correlate with his sound and style. This beat right here fits his vibe perfectly. Hit the stream and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Theophilus London (feat. Sara Q.) – Why Even Try [via] Tweet

The xx – You’ve Got The Love (Theophilus London Remix)

Theophilus London jumps on The xx’s “You’ve Got The Love” to create one of the better tracks I’ve heard recently. It’s a perfect blend of two distinct styles, and has me wondering why artists like this don’t get together more often. If Theophilus London can just jack The xx’s beat and turn it into something this listenable, then you should be able to put both acts in a studio and come up with something special. Hit the stream and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: The xx – You’ve Got The Love (Theophilus London Remix) [via] … Continue reading

Theophilus London – Flying Overseas (feat. Devonté Hynes & Solange Knowles)

Don’t let the album art throw you off, this is a smooth track that deserves a download. Theophilus London won me over with “Humdrum Town”, as he did with everyone else. Since then, I’ve been on the lookout for any new material he releases…and this right here is one of my new favorites. Beyonce’s sister adds some flair, and it works out beautifully. Hit the stream, and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Theophilus London – Flying Overseas (feat. Devonté Hynes & Solange Knowles) Tweet

Maximum Balloon (feat. Theophilus London) – Groove Me

An entirely unique track right here from Maximum Balloon and Theophilus London.  Maximum Balloon is the upcoming solo project from Dave Sitek (of TV On The Radio), and this jam has me expecting big things.  I’ve yet to hear a track featuring Theophilus London that I haven’t loved, and that trend continues here. Get yourself educated. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Maximum Balloon (feat. Theophilus London) – Groove Me [via] Tweet

Theophilus London – I Want You (Mixtape)

Theophilus London dropped his most recent mixtape the other day entitled I Want You. I haven’t listened to the entire thing yet, mainly because the jam below, “Sorry To Interrupt”, is the third track and I can’t get past it.  The guy just has a sweet way of intertwining electronic/soul/hip-hop into one genre, and so far I can’t get enough.  The mixtape in its entirety can be downloaded for free HERE.  Check out “Sorry to Interrupt” below. Theophilus London – Humdrum Town

Theophilus London is an up and coming artist out of Brooklyn that puts hip hop, electronic, soul and nearly every musical genre together to establish his own sound.  “Humdrum Town” dropped in mid-November, but I just came across it for the first time and I like what I hear.  It’s giving my ears something different to check out, and that’s definitely a good thing.
