Vampire Weekend – Holiday (Pop-Up Video)

Pop-Up Video was my shit back in the day. We’re talking in the day and age I used to rock Doug, Legends of the Hidden Temple and play Road Rash, this shit right here managed to slip into my cycle.  Apparently it’s returned for good, after a 10 year hiatus. Count me in, I’m beyond sold. Tweet

ROSTAM (of Vampire Weekend) – Wood

Following the epic collapse of the Boston Red Sox, I feel like listening to strange vibes. Rostam Batmanglij, one of the vocalists behind Vampire Weekend (and side-project “Discovery”), just released a brand new solo track; and it’s weird as hell. It’s funny how you can hear similar elements in the song that have made Vampire Weekend one of the more popular indie bands of the past few years. The tribal drums and chimes are a dead-giveaway. As for “Wood” itself; it’s a little too bizarre for me, but it’s worth the listen nonetheless. If you’re a fan of Vampire Weekend, check … Continue reading

Vampire Weekend – Fight For This Love (Cover)

A little feel-good cover here from Vampire Weekend to start my Wednesday. They take on Cheryl Cole of all people, and sprinkle their suburban rock sound all over her track “Fight For This Love”. A good listen; hit the stream and download below. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Vampire Weekend – Fight For This Love (Cover) [via] Tweet

Vampire Weekend – The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance (Miike Snow Remix)

Miike Snow easily became one of my favorite new bands last year, so it’s no surprise that their remix of Vampire Weekend’s “The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance” does big things. I’ve yet to hear a track from them that I’m not into, so if you’re behind on them, get yourself involved. Chromeo (feat. Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend) – I Could Be Wrong

Chromeo’s new album Business Casual dropped this past week, and with that, “I Could Be Wrong” has been circulating the blogosphere. The track features lead singer of Vampire Weekend, Ezra Koenig, and brings the expected 80′s, jazz-style vibe of Chromeo’s previous work…but tosses in a little Vampire Weekend flair to make the song that much better. As I’m waiting on the new Kanye track which is supposed to drop tonight, this is keeping me beyond entertained. Definitely worth the download. Kid Cudi & Johan Wedel– Whenever Cudder Is Back (Johan Wedel Re-Touch)

I stumbled across this track earlier today at work and it is a pretty impressive piece of work from an up-and-coming Swedish producer Johan Wedel.  I am not even sure what category this song would go into but it is a house blend of Kid Cudi and Vampire Weekend samples with a bunch of Lady Gaga oh’s sprinkled all over it. KiD CuDi, Rostam Batmanglij (of Vampire Weekend) & Bethany Cosentino – All Summer

Converse recently took Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend, and Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, threw them in a room together and forced them to come up with a track they could sponsor.  “All Summer” was the result.  It’s a breezy, laid back summer jam that will fit in nicely on anyone’s July playlist.  Give it a spin.  Spotted @ Above&Beyond. Vampire Weekend – Everywhere (Cover)

I spotted this cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” over on The Hype Machine, and if you’re a Vampire Weekend fan, it’ll fit your needs quite well.  If you’re not a Vampire Weekend fan, well, then this jam probably won’t convert you.  It’s tough to cover all aspects of the music scene, as some people are strict on liking certain genres, whether it be hip-hop, techno, indie music, whatever.  I try my best to grab different tracks from all genres of music and post them up here; if I think it’s good music, then it’s deserving of a post.  Regardless, for … Continue reading

KiD CuDi – Cudderisback

Some new magic from Cudi sampling some early Vampire Weekend.  Whoa, I get way too excited when I hear of new shit from this guy. This is way up my alley, it’s already on repeat…although I’m slightly upset it’s only 2:25.  P&P with the find. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: KiD CuDi – Cudderisback Tweet
