The Hood Internet – Nightchain (Wale vs. Kavinsky)

I watched Drive for the second time last night, and there are a handful of things that I still can’t get over. The unbelievably graphic elevator scene, the sneaky-great soundtrack, and Ron Perlman’s UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE to a baboon. The shit is mindblowing. Anyways, The Hood Internet have decided to mash up one of the tracks from Drive, Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” with Wale’s “Chain Music”. The result is working for me at the moment. Check it out below, and go compare some pictures of baboons to the man above. No disrespect Mr. Perlman, you were a boss in that film. [via Pigeons & … Continue reading

Tony Williams (feat. Wale, Emilio Rojas & Macklemore) – Blazin High

This one slipped right under my radar last week. G.O.O.D. Music signee Tony Williams just released his new mixtape, Some Of My Best Rappers Are Friends, and “Blazin High” is the first cut I’ve heard so far. When you recruit Wale, NYC-native Emilio Rojas, and Seattle’s ever-popular, buzzworthy Macklemore — all on ONE track, it’s gonna receive some attention. I dig what they’ve done here — head over to The Smoking Section to pick up the project in it’s entirety, and let me know how it is. Wale – Bait (Remix) (Feat. Rick Ross, Two Chains, & Trey Songz)

Looks like Wale decided to make a remix of his go-go inspired smash “Bait”.  I love this original song. Not too much explanation needed, it’s just been a consistent play in my music library and refuses to get old.  This remix on the other hand doesn’t do so much for me.  Either way, the beat cranks and that can not be ignored. Wale – Ambition (Feat. Meek Mill & Rick Ross)

With the marketing push for Ambition going full force right now, another cut from the album has been released to the masses.  This was one of the tracks I was really looking forward to hearing, and it definitely surpasses my expectations. The previews we got yesterday really don’t give us much to figure out which tracks will shine.  After listening to this song, featuring fellow MMG rappers Meek Mill and Rick Ross, it is clear that it will definitely be one of the stand outs. Wale – Ambition (Album Preview)

Warner’s been all over the marketing push for Wale’s upcoming sophomore album Ambition. The world knows his album is dropping November 1st, and today they’ve hooked up a little interactive preview of the album featuring a few seconds of each track. I don’t know if I’m into the whole album preview thing; kind of a tease — but if you’re craving a general idea of what the album will sound like, it’s all here. Pre-order Ambition here. Tweet

Wale (feat. Big Sean) – Slight Work (Prod. by Diplo)

Here we have a cut off of Wale’s sophomore album where he shares a Diplo produced beat with Big Sean.  I’m not so sure how I feel about this right now.  Diplo brings in a crazy beat with a sound that I did not expect to hear Wale on.  I don’t want to say I dislike the song, but I expect there to be much better material on Ambition when it drops next Tuesday. Click Here to Pre-order on iTunes. RefinedHype Presents: Overlooked

When I first saw that Chip Tha Ripper had a new track out called “25 Wives” I braced myself for a hilarious parody. Nope, sounds like the man’s actually completely fucking serious, he really does think having 25 wives would be a good look. I’m going to go ahead and assume Chip doesn’t even have one wife, because if he did, he’d know that unless you’re literally a Middle Eastern sheik with a harem, that many wives is a terrible, terrible idea. But what the man lacks in marital advice he makes up for in dopeness. Producer Boi-1da’s primarily known … Continue reading

Wale (feat. KiD CuDi) – Focused

EB might blow a gasket over this one — his DC boy Wale just dropped another look into his upcoming album Ambition. After their initial love, then beef, then back to love, Wale hit up Cudi for the hook, and he delivers. Hit it below, and pick up Ambition on 11/1/11. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Download: Wale (feat. KiD CuDi) – Focused Actually, after a second look, “Focused” doesn’t look to be on the album tracklist. I heard a lot of hype about this one, so I find that hard to believe; but check out the tracklist below: … Continue reading

Wale – Tats On My Arm (Feat Rick Ross) (Clean)

For the second day in a row we’re blessed with a cut off of Wale’s sophmore album, Ambition.  I waited for the tagless version to drop before posting this, but it’s the clean version so you’ll have to deal with it for the time being.  Ambition seems to be coming together nicely, with the way these two previous releases have sent the Twitter world into a frenzy, Wale’s work ethic is clearly starting to pay off.   This is a perfect track to add to my road trip playlist as I begin my journey from D.C. to Boston for the … Continue reading

Wale – Lotus Flower Bomb (Feat. Miguel)

In order to celebrate the finishing of his album yesterday, Wale put up his next single, ”Lotus Flower Bomb”, for free download. Unlike his previous release, this will be on Ambition, which drops on 11-1-11. I really like this song; the beat is simple and smooth, the chorus is addictive, and Wale’s flow fits perfectly. It definitely has a R&B vibe to it as it’s a song catered to the ladies, which doesn’t deter from it’s quality. Snatch this up below and be on the look out for Wale’s sophomore album in about a month. [Audio clip: view full post to listen] … Continue reading
