This new one from the soon to be crowned mash-up kings, The White Panda, blends Weezer’s “Island In The Sun” miraculously well with J-Kwon’s 8th grade party-starter “Tipsy”.  I’ve grown increasingly confident that this duo can just combine any pair of songs you throw at them, and without fail, it’ll sound awesome.  They probably just sit around in a room attempting to think of the most ridiculous shit they could possibly mash-up, and use it as a challenge to come out with a dynamite track.  Whatever their process is, it works for me. For many reasons, I’m ready to celebrate the end of January. I have a new lease starting on Feb. 1, I have Presidents Day off, work sucks this month, etc. So here’s a catchy tune the gf brought to my attention to take you into the weekend and take me into February. Wow.  Is this absolutely terrible?  I can’t tell if Weezer is being serious or not.  It sounds like they’re just making fun of hip-hop culture…but they might be really trying to pull this collaboration off.  It’s off their upcoming album, Raditude, which drops November 3rd. I could see this becoming the most annoying, overplayed song since anything by The Black Eyed Peas.  I don’t even know why I’m posting this, it’s horrendous…but at the same time sort of catchy and I really don’t want it to be.
