I woke up this morning and was in the mood to get weird. Real weird. Yeasayer should always be your top choice if you want something completely out of the ordinary, yet melodic enough to still be listenable. They just released a few new tracks out of the blue, “Phoenix Wind” being my favorite. Give it a listen below and let me know what you think.
I stumbled across this track over at P&P this morning and this guy Gilbere Forte’ has done this track justice by sprinkling his own verses over this Yeasayer Remix of “Dog Days Are Over”. We heard him once before as the guy that joined Kanye on the remix of the the Stromae club record “Alors On Danse”. Just take a listen to this track and who knows, this guy Gilbere Forte’ could become a new face to look at in the category of rappers who draw their inspirations from Indie music. Enjoy… Download: Gilbere Forte’– Dog Days Are Over (Yeasayer … Continue reading →

Awesome song off of Yeasayer’s most recent album, Odd Blood. As we’re all well aware, the band is mind-bendingly (should be a word) bizarre. “O.N.E.” is hands down the most “radio-friendly” song I’ve heard from the group. Just got back from a little 5 hour drive down to the beautiful Lehigh Valley, and this jam must have had 75 plays. The album as a whole is a little too trippy for me, but “O.N.E.” is definitely a flash of brilliance. Download: Yeasayer – O.N.E. Tweet

Here’s a smooth remix to Yeasayer’s “Ambling Alp”. I was definitely a bit hesitant at first, but I came around after a couple spins. The original was getting abused by me since I first heard it, so this change has done good things for me over here. Give it a go.
Unbelievable song from a band I’ve never heard of. Nicky Rubio sent this over to me a couple weeks ago and it’s been steady in my rotation ever since. Yeasayer is kind of an experimental, indie rock-band out of Brooklyn, and according to Wikipedia, “Live performances sometimes include trippy, psychedelic visuals projected in the background.” Sign me up. Download: Yeasayer – Ambling Alp (right-click, save link as) Check the video below, which does indeed include “trippy, psychedelic visuals”: Tweet
